Lotus-shaped granulation at the female urethra

Lotus-shaped granulations at the female urethral opening may be caused by chronic urethral inflammation infection, or it may be a tumor at the urethral opening. It cannot be ruled out that it is caused by genital warts.

1. Chronic urethral inflammation and infection: Long-term inflammation and infection of the urethral opening may cause proliferative changes in the skin, and granulation tissue may be caused. You can apply antibacterial and antipruritic ointments. If the granulation tissue is relatively large, most of them can be treated with laser and electrocautery.

2. Urethral tumor: It may be caused by chronic inflammatory infection. Stimulation usually causes tumor-like substances to appear. The tissue can be removed by puncture for pathological diagnosis to rule out malignant lesions. If it is a benign lesion, it is usually removed by microwave surgery, and the prognosis will be relatively good. If it is a malignant lesion, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are needed to inhibit the development of cancer cells.

3. Genital warts: Most cases of HPV infection may cause growths in the anal area. There are usually many factors that cause this, including having multiple sexual partners or problems with the immune system. Genital warts usually appear on the glans penis and coronal sulcus. Small pink particles may also appear on the frenulum and urethral opening. The texture will be relatively soft. Nipple-like and cauliflower-like growths may also appear.
