What is the reason for gaining weight instead of losing weight during breastfeeding?

After a woman gives birth, breastfeeding is actually beneficial for the new mother to lose weight, but not every breastfeeding mother can lose weight successfully. Some new mothers, because they have no restrictions on their diet, prefer to eat sweets or very greasy food, which will lead to fat accumulation, and most of the fat will be distributed in the abdomen. This is why they gain weight instead of losing weight after giving birth.

Overnutrition

By observing my wife's daily living habits, I found that overnutrition is also one of the main causes of her obesity. Of course, this is mainly for the baby's sake. Before and after pregnancy, she eats a lot of meat and fish, and eats whatever she wants. In addition, during the confinement period, she eats chicken soup almost every day, and eats high-calorie foods such as pig's trotters. I think, even if she only drinks the soup and doesn't eat meat, there will be several barrels of fat in the soup after a few months.

Poor sleep quality

My wife's sleep quality after giving birth is obviously much worse than before. She has to wake up several times a night, which is really tiring. Whether you sleep too much or too little, it will affect the body's metabolism, and the nutrients such as sugars that you usually consume will accumulate in the female body in the form of fat, causing obesity. Therefore, it is recommended that postpartum mothers who want to maintain a good figure should adjust their scientific sleeping habits in a timely manner.

Poor metabolism

In fact, for most women, their metabolism has begun to slow down after the age of 25. After giving birth, they are busy taking care of their children. It is difficult for them to have real time for exercise due to work and family, so the chance of gaining weight will also increase.

Postpartum constipation

As the old saying goes, nine out of ten children suffer from constipation. Postpartum constipation is mainly caused by slow gastrointestinal motility and an overly greasy diet. Generally, women in confinement will eat a lot of high-fat so-called nutritious foods during the confinement period, which makes it more likely to cause obesity problems.
