Can women use cupping during menstruation?

We all know that women's menstruation is a special period. Women are particularly sensitive during menstruation, and their tempers will be hotter than usual. Because of menstruation, even if they don't feel anything, they will feel very uncomfortable. So women want to lie comfortably in bed and do nothing during menstruation. So, can girls do cupping during menstruation? The following is a detailed introduction.

Try not to cupping during your period, as it can prolong your period and increase blood volume.

Cupping therapy is one of the traditional medical methods in my country and has a history of thousands of years.

Cupping is a method of treating diseases based on the principle of thermal expansion and contraction. It uses an instantaneous flame to form a vacuum negative pressure in the cup, which is sucked into the human body, causing the body's meridians to be benignly stimulated, thereby unblocking qi and blood, causing blood vessels to dilate, accelerating blood flow, enhancing metabolism, and rapidly improving the body's nutritional tissues, thereby reflexively enhancing the phagocytic ability of white blood cells, improving the body's immune function, and achieving the purpose of curing diseases and strengthening the body.

Cupping therapy is also known as "cupping therapy" and "suction cup therapy", and was called "horn method" in ancient times. It is recorded in the silk book "Fifty-two Prescriptions for Diseases" unearthed from the Han Tomb of Mawangdui. The horn method is also mentioned in Ge Hong's "Emergency Prescriptions for the Elbow" in the Jin Dynasty and Wang Tao's "Secrets of the Imperial Pharmacy" in the Tang Dynasty. There are many discussions about it in ancient Chinese medical literature. It is often used to absorb blood and drain pus in the treatment of sores and abscesses. Later, it was used in internal medicine diseases such as tuberculosis and rheumatism. Zhao Xuemin of the Qing Dynasty mentioned "fire cupping energy" in "Supplement to Compendium of Materia Medica" and said: "The fire energy of the cup is combined inside, which makes it impossible to remove... dizziness will appear on the flesh, water will come out of the cup, and all the wind and cold will be expelled." In recent years, with the continuous development of medical practice, not only the materials and methods of cupping have been improved and developed, but the scope of treatment has also been further expanded. It is often used in combination with acupuncture, becoming an important therapy in acupuncture.

Its scientific basis lies in:

1. Mechanical stimulation. Cupping therapy creates negative pressure inside the cup by exhausting air, allowing the edge of the cup to adhere tightly to the skin surface, pulling the nerves, muscles, blood vessels and subcutaneous glands, which can cause a series of neuroendocrine reactions, regulate vasodilation and contraction function and vascular permeability, thereby improving local blood circulation.

2. Negative pressure effect. The negative pressure of cupping causes local congestion and blood stasis rapidly, small capillaries may even rupture, red blood cells may be destroyed, and hemolysis may occur. The release of hemoglobin in red blood cells is a benign stimulus to the body. It can bidirectionally regulate the functions of tissues and organs through the nervous system, while promoting the phagocytic action of white blood cells, increasing the skin's sensitivity and tolerance to external changes, and thus enhancing the body's immunity. Secondly, the powerful suction force of negative pressure can fully open the sweat pores, stimulate and enhance the functions of sweat glands and sebaceous glands, and cause aging cells on the surface of the skin to fall off, thereby accelerating the discharge of toxins and waste in the body.

3. Warming effect. The local warming effect of cupping not only dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow, but also enhances the permeability of blood vessel walls and the phagocytic ability of cells. The changes in vascular tone and mucosal permeability at the cupping site accelerate lymphatic circulation and enhance phagocytosis, which undoubtedly create a good environment for resisting biological causes of infectious lesions. In addition, the chronic stimulation of hemolysis has a health-care function for the human body.
