What is amenorrhea?

In our daily life, many female friends will encounter the phenomenon of amenorrhea. If it is not a normal physiological age, it is abnormal. So everyone knows what the symptoms of amenorrhea are, what are the symptoms and treatments of amenorrhea, let us learn about it together below.

Many women experience amenorrhea when they get older, but if young women experience amenorrhea, they need to pay attention to whether it is physiological amenorrhea.

1. Clinical symptoms of physiological amenorrhea

1. Early amenorrhea in adolescence

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and potassium thiocyanate can be detected in the urine of girls aged 6 to 9, and the levels begin to rise rapidly at the age of 10. This is the initial manifestation of kidney function. The androgen from the kidney promotes the appearance of pubic hair and sweat hair, and the body grows rapidly. Because the hypothalamus-pituitary-uterus-ovary axis still needs further development and perfection, the estrogen level is still low, the uterine wall reproduction is weak, and bleeding is not easy to occur, so menstruation is delayed. The absence of menarche in this stage before the first menstruation is a physiological phenomenon. Some girls have menstruation once every few months for a year or so after the first menstruation, and it is also normal for them to have anovulatory menstruation.

2. Amenorrhea during breastfeeding

Women who exclusively breastfeed usually resume menstruation 2 months after weaning if they wean at any time.

3. Menopause buffer period and postmenopausal amenorrhea

The menopausal buffer period may include abnormal uterine bleeding, sexual organ contraction, and uterine contraction after menopause.

2. Clinical symptoms of physiological amenorrhea

1. Uterine amenorrhea and cryptomenorrhea;

2. Ovarian amenorrhea;

3. Pituitary amenorrhea;

4. Human brain nerve center and hypothalamic pituitary amenorrhea.

From the above introduction, we know that amenorrhea before puberty and after reaching a certain age is a normal amenorrhea, and we don’t need to worry about this kind of amenorrhea. However, if amenorrhea occurs during this process, it is an abnormal amenorrhea, and this is the kind of amenorrhea that everyone should pay attention to.

Female amenorrhea is a very common disease in daily life. If it is not treated in time, it will cause great harm to the patient's body. Of course, this mainly refers to physiological amenorrhea. In addition, there is also physiological amenorrhea, which is a normal condition and does not require treatment.
