My aunt has something like meat on her period. What's going on?

It is easy for women to have many phenomena during menstruation, such as too much or too little menstrual flow, prolonged or increased menstrual duration, dysmenorrhea, backache and many other symptoms. However, some women find something like meat in their menstrual period, which makes many women very scared. So what is the matter with the meat-like thing during menstruation?

First, what's the matter with the fleshy substance during menstruation? The fleshy substance during menstruation is mostly considered to be the endometrium. When the endometrium is shed and mixed with blood, it looks like meaty substance to the naked eye. The reason why the blood clots are mixed with the endometrium may be due to blood clots formed by uterine cold, qi stagnation and blood stasis. If a fleshy discharge occurs during menstruation and is accompanied by symptoms such as vulvar itching, abdominal pain, and abnormal leucorrhea, it may be caused by a gynecological inflammatory infection.

Second, the fleshy discharge during menstruation may be caused by uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids can be divided into intramural fibroids, subserosal fibroids and submucosal fibroids. Among them, subserosal fibroids grow toward the surface of the uterus. When the tumor grows to a point where only one pedicle is connected to the uterine wall, it will easily deform, necrotize and fall off due to insufficient blood supply, thus causing the discharge of fleshy substances during menstruation.

Third, the blood clots and rotten flesh-like substances that flow out of menstrual blood are a mixture of endometrial fragments and vaginal epithelial cells. When you stand up suddenly after sitting for a long time, or when you just get up, a stream of hot menstrual blood will flow out, and dysmenorrhea will suddenly worsen. Normal menstrual blood does not coagulate. The main reason is that under the action of plasmin, fibrin will be broken down into flowing decomposition products. If the amount of menstrual blood is too much and there is not enough time, and the flow of menstrual blood is blocked, it will coagulate into blood clots and flow out.

What's going on when there's something fleshy during menstruation? It could be due to an incomplete abortion. For women who have just had an abortion, if there's something fleshy during menstruation, it could be a gestational sac left over from an incomplete abortion. Recommendation: Go to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately after the menstrual period is over to remove the remaining gestational sac and avoid symptoms such as uterine adhesion and infection.
