Why do urinary tract infections recur?

Why do urinary tract infections recur?

Among all chronic kidney diseases, there is one chronic kidney disease that is much more common in women than in men, and that is urinary tract infection. About 9 out of 10 patients with urinary tract infection may be women. Although this is a bit exaggerated, it can fully explain that women have a higher incidence of this disease than men. Why are women very prone to urinary tract infections? Why is it so easy for urinary tract infections to recur? Next, let us understand it together?

1. Not finding the root cause

Some women often suffer from urinary tract infections, which actually have underlying diseases, such as diabetes, urethral obstruction or urogenital stones. If these diseases are not cured, they will naturally provide conditions for the recurrence of urinary tract infections, and attacks will occur frequently. Therefore, the treatment of the underlying disease must not be neglected, as it is a prerequisite for completely curing urinary tract infection. Therefore, do not rush to treat urinary tract infection, but check whether there is any underlying disease.

2. Still doing your own thing without correcting bad habits

Urinary tract infection is related to some bad lifestyles, such as not liking to drink water, often holding urine, and not paying attention to hygiene during sexual life. If the female urinary tract infection is caused by this unhealthy lifestyle, and after recovery, this lifestyle is still not corrected and the patient continues to do his own thing, then the recurrence is expected. Even if the urinary tract infection is not caused by this habit, after the urinary tract infection is cured, this habit will cause the urinary tract infection to come back.

3. Terminating treatment without permission

All of this needs to be carried out in a course of treatment, and it also takes a period of time. Even if the symptoms will be alleviated or subsided to a certain extent, it still takes a period of time to promote treatment to prevent recurrence, and the same is true for urinary tract infection. Some women stop taking medication privately when their physical discomfort symptoms ease or disappear, which also provides conditions for recurrence.

Compared with men, women are more susceptible to urinary tract infections, which is related to their physiological structure. Although urinary tract infections are not very difficult to treat, they are prone to recurrence and are very annoying. I hope everyone can understand the causes of the attacks and take preventive measures during the treatment process.
