How to massage breast lumps

How to massage breast lumps

Some women, when they find one or more lumps on their breasts, want to massage them away as quickly as possible with their hands so that the lumps disappear sooner. Little do people know that some lumps are caused by space-occupying lesions in the breast and often cannot be eliminated by massage. The lumps produced during breastfeeding can usually be massaged out in a certain way. So how do you massage the breast lumps while breastfeeding?

1. How do breast lumps form?

1. Breast lumps during lactation

The milk was not emptied during the last feeding, causing milk to accumulate and form lumps. In this case, you must apply hot compresses and find ways to soften the milk lumps and discharge them to prevent them from blocking the milk ducts.

2. Breast hyperplasia lumps

Some breast lumps may be space-occupying lesions within the breast. The early symptoms of breast hyperplasia are single or multiple lumps in different parts of the breast. They are soft, have unclear boundaries, are movable, and are often accompanied by varying degrees of pain. Especially before menstruation, after fatigue, or when there are emotional fluctuations such as anger (called qi stagnation in traditional Chinese medicine), the lump will increase in size and the pain will increase in severity. After menstruation, the lump will significantly shrink and the pain will be relieved.

3. Breast fibroid lumps

Breast fibroadenoma is a benign tumor composed of a mixture of glandular epithelium and fibrous tissue. It is round or oval in shape, clinically 1 to 3 cm in size, grows slowly, and is mainly a painless breast lump. Most of the lumps are single, but they can also be multiple, or lumps can be felt in both breasts at the same time or successively. They have clear boundaries, neat edges, smooth and elastic surfaces, no tenderness, wide range of motion, and no adhesion to the skin.

4. Breast cancer lumps

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the mammary gland epithelial tissue. 80% of breast cancer patients first present with a breast lump. Patients often discover breast lumps accidentally, which are usually single, hard, with irregular edges and a less smooth surface. Most breast cancers are painless lumps, and only a few are accompanied by varying degrees of dull pain or tingling.

Don't be anxious, let your baby suck more. At the same time, be sure to apply hot compress first, then slowly rub and massage the hard lump with your hands, and the lump will slowly be rubbed away.

3. Prevention

1. Establish good living and eating habits, avoid and reduce psychological stress factors, and keep a good mood. Control the intake of high-fat, high-calorie foods, and do not take exogenous estrogen indiscriminately. Learn how to self-examine your breasts. If you find unexplained breast nodules, go to the hospital for diagnosis in time.

2. When breastfeeding, try to empty the milk from the previous feeding as much as possible to avoid milk accumulation and the formation of breast lumps due to blockage of the milk ducts.

3. Eat less high-fat, high-protein, low-fiber foods. At the same time, smoke and drink less, and eat less spicy and irritating foods. Eat more cabbage, kelp and soy products. You should usually wear bras with good support. Wearing inappropriate bras will also affect the health of your breasts.

4. Live a regular life, be in a good mood, eat a light diet; drink plenty of water, and pay attention to proper breast massage.
