What to do if your breasts sag after weaning

Breasts are the baby's granary. In order to meet the needs of breastfeeding, after entering the lactation period, the mother's mammary glands will become abnormally developed and the breasts will be larger than usual. After the breastfeeding period, the breasts will return to normal levels. Because of the wave of swelling, many new mothers will experience sagging breasts after weaning. So, what should you do if your breasts sag after weaning?

1. Massage the breasts frequently: After the mother weans the baby, she should do a simple self-massage in bed before going to bed every night and after getting up in the morning. This can effectively promote blood circulation in the chest, and also provide the breasts with sufficient nutrition, which is beneficial to stimulate hormone secretion.

2. Do not diet to lose weight: Losing weight after childbirth is also a major task, but you must not choose to diet to lose weight. The consequences of dieting can cause breast tissue to be significantly affected, and breasts begin to become smaller and smaller. Postpartum weight loss only needs to be recovered within half a year, so don’t rush to choose dieting to lose weight.

3. Diet method: Mothers need to consume more foods rich in B vitamins, such as: lean meat, eggs, milk, beans, carrots, lotus roots, peanuts, malt, grapes, sesame, etc. These foods can not only stimulate the secretion of estrogen in the body, but are also very helpful for breast maintenance.

Maintenance of breasts after weaning

1. Bathing the breasts: Mothers can use hot water to rinse the breasts first, and then change to cold water to rinse the breasts. The alternating cold and hot water can stimulate the breasts, which can effectively stimulate breast blood circulation and increase chest skin tension.

2. Insist on wearing a bra: Mothers should start wearing bras at the beginning of the breastfeeding period. Not wearing a bra can easily cause sagging breasts. Wearing a bra can support and hold the breasts, effectively stimulate blood circulation in the breasts, promote milk secretion and improve the breasts' resistance to disease, while also effectively preventing nipple injuries.

3. Correct breastfeeding during lactation: During the lactation period, the correct breastfeeding method should be adopted, and the two breasts should be fed alternately. If the baby is only used to sucking from one breast, it is best for the mother to empty the other breast with a breast pump so that the size of the breasts on both sides can be kept symmetrical. At the same time, be sure not to let the baby pull on the nipple when feeding.
