Burning pain in breasts during lactation

Burning pain in breasts during lactation

Why do we say that mothers in the world are great? In addition to their selfless maternal love for their children, the fact is that children grow up drinking breast milk, and breast milk is the best for children. However, breastfeeding is very painful for mothers. Under normal circumstances, the breasts will be very painful in the first few days. If there is too much milk accumulation, it can easily cause a burning sensation in the breasts. This situation is mostly caused by mastitis.

Breast fever may be caused by bacteria invasion when feeding the baby, so the breasts should be cleaned in time after feeding the baby, so as to effectively prevent the symptoms of breast fever. When feeding the baby, prevent the baby from biting the nipple, because if the baby bites the nipple, it is likely to cause bacteria to grow, which will also lead to the inability to feed the baby. After feeding the baby, you can use sulfur soap to wash the breasts appropriately, which can help to kill bacteria and reduce inflammation.

Generally speaking, breast pain during lactation is a relatively normal condition. The main reason for this condition is that the breasts secrete milk during lactation, which may cause the blood vessels around the breasts to dilate, leading to breast pain. Of course, it is also possible that it is caused by lobular hyperplasia. It is still recommended to go to the hospital for examination. Let me tell you what to do below.

Considering the possibility of mastitis, you can try hot compress. Hot compress can make the milk lumps blocking the mammary glands become unobstructed and improve breast circulation. When applying hot compress, be careful to avoid the areola and nipple areas because the skin in these two areas is more tender. The temperature of the hot compress should not be too hot to avoid scalding the skin.

If breast pain is paroxysmal, and often begins before menstruation or worsens before menstruation, and is relieved or disappears after menstruation, and the pain is distending or stabbing, and sometimes involves the armpit or shoulder and back on the same side, and there is mild to moderate tenderness locally, then it is considered to be a proliferative lesion.

If the nipple is severely painful during breastfeeding, or the nipple is broken or cracked, it may be caused by the baby sucking and biting the nipple, resulting in nipple fissures. If the breast pain is only mild, dull or aching, with no obvious regularity, and is only occasional or paroxysmal, and sometimes continuous, it is often ignored because the pain is not obvious. It should be noted that such breast pain may also be a signal of early breast malignant disease, and should be given sufficient attention.
