The correct way to touch the belly of a pregnant woman

Pregnancy is very hard for women, and the growth of every baby is infused with the mother's infinite love. When the baby is still in the mother's belly, the baby tells the mother how lively and cute he is by kicking his legs and other actions, and the mother feels the baby's happiness by touching her belly. Pregnant women who frequently touch their belly can not only learn about the baby's health status, but also establish good communication with the baby. So what is the correct way for pregnant women to touch their belly?

Out of anticipation and love for the baby in their belly, pregnant women love to touch their bellies during pregnancy. In fact, this is a very normal behavior, but if it is touched improperly, it will cause uterine contractions. Severe improper behavior may even cause the umbilical cord around the neck, malposition of the fetus, and ultimately lead to premature birth. This is a point that pregnant mothers need to be aware of.

Of course, pregnant women should not be afraid to touch their bellies because of the possible consequences of improper touching. In fact, pregnant women should not be so restrained. Touching the belly correctly is harmless to the fetus but beneficial. Let’s find out how to properly touch a pregnant woman’s belly. For pregnant women, remember not to caress all the time. The caressing time is limited. Continuing to caress beyond the limited time may be harmful to the fetus. In addition, different caressing methods should be mastered at different stages of pregnancy, as follows:

1. When you are 3 months pregnant, you should touch your belly back and forth.

Pregnant women can gently stroke their belly back and forth when they are three months pregnant, from top to bottom and from left to right. However, the time should be appropriate. It is safe to stroke back and forth when the pregnant woman's abdomen is completely relaxed. Be careful not to make heavy movements. Stroking back and forth for 2-5 minutes is good for the health of the fetus. Exceeding the time may affect the growth and development of the fetus.

2. Touch and tap the belly when you are 4 months pregnant

Pregnant women can gently touch, press and pat their bellies when they are four months pregnant. Use your hands to stroke the abdomen from top to bottom and from left to right. Press and lift lightly with your fingers. Gently press and pat to stimulate the fetus's sense of touch. Touch, press and pat when the pregnant woman's abdomen is completely relaxed. After a while, the fetus will give feedback such as slight body movements, movements of hands and feet, etc. Note that the best time for touching, pressing and patting at the beginning is 5 minutes. When the fetus shows feedback such as slight body movements and movement of hands and feet, increase the time of touching, pressing and patting to 5 to 10 minutes each time. Be gentle and pay attention to the feedback from the fetus. If the fetus struggles or kicks its legs, the pregnant woman should not continue, because this means the fetus does not like it.

3. Push walking during pregnancy

Pregnant women can practice pushing walks when they are 6 or 7 months pregnant, allowing the fetus to "take a walk and do exercises" in the womb. Then the expectant mother should gently stroke, press, and pat the abdomen back and forth to push the fetus. This should also be done when the pregnant woman's abdomen is completely relaxed. Each time, it should be 5 to 10 minutes. The movements should be gentle and use appropriate force. Exerting too much force can cause abdominal pain, uterine contractions, and even premature birth. Note: If you notice any changes in the fetus, stop all movements immediately and gently stroke the belly with your hands. The fetus will slowly calm down.

In short, through touching, we can stimulate the development of the fetal brain and develop the fetal intelligence. It also makes the fetus feel that the parents love him. Physical contact expresses deep love, but we must master the correct touching method to facilitate the baby's growth.
