What medicine is good for women with frequent urination and urgency?

Women are more susceptible to urinary tract infections because of their shorter urethra. In addition, common gynecological diseases in women, such as vaginitis, cervicitis, etc., can also cause urinary tract infections in women. This situation is more likely to occur when women do not pay attention to personal hygiene or have unclean sex life. The symptoms are inability to hold urine and always feeling the urge to urinate, which often causes great distress to women. So, when women experience frequent urination and urgency, what medicine should they take?

1. Causes

1. Trichomonas urethritis, gonococcal urethritis, bladder tuberculosis, acute pyelonephritis and acute cystitis.

2. Urethral injury: Urethral mucosal abrasion caused by urethral instrument examination can destroy the defense function of the urethral mucosa and lead to bacterial infection;

3. Foreign bodies in the urethra: Foreign bodies placed from the outside or stones in the urethra, etc., can cause urinary tract infection if left there for a long time;

4. Urethral obstruction: such as stenosis of the prepuce, stenosis of the external urethral opening, urethral stenosis, posterior urethral valve, urethral tumor, female hymen umbrella, fusion of hymen at the urethral opening, etc., due to poor urination, urine accumulates in the urethra and can cause secondary urethral infection;

5. Inflammation of adjacent organs, such as vaginitis or cervicitis, can spread to the urethra, which is often a stubborn lesion of chronic posterior urethritis;

6. It is often related to sexual life. Unclean sexual life can easily cause urinary tract infection.

7. It may also be caused by getting angry.

2. Symptoms

Frequent urination, painful urination, and urgency. Women rarely have secretions. When it becomes chronic, it manifests as urethral stinging and discomfort during urination. The urethral secretions decrease and become a thin serous fluid. During acute attacks, there is dull pain in the suprapubic area and perineum, and the urethral opening is red and has secretions.

3. Inspection

Routine urine examination. Chronic urethritis requires urethrocystoscopy and urethrography when necessary. During the acute phase, instrumental examination of the urethra should be avoided.

1. Hazards

1. Complications of gynecological patients include endometritis, salpingitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, peritonitis, etc.

2. Intraurethral infection can spread directly to the bladder, and fibrosis during the healing process of urethral inflammation can cause urethral stenosis.

II. Treatment

1. Antibiotic application

There are many types of drugs currently used for treatment. According to the type of pathogen and its sensitivity to the drugs, 2 to 3 drugs should be selected and used in combination to achieve better therapeutic effects. The medication should be continued for 7 to 10 days before being discontinued after the symptoms disappear completely, the urine test is normal, and the bacterial culture is negative. If it is caused by a mild urinary tract infection, antibiotics such as floxacin and cephalosporin can be taken. Chinese medicine can be used, such as Sanjin tablets, Relinqing, etc., or you can boil water with Centella asiatica and Plantain.

2. Adjuvant therapy

During the acute phase, you should drink more water to increase urine volume and flush the urethra. If you have frequent or urgent urination, you can take antispasmodics and eliminate various causes of urethritis. Urethritis caused by sexually transmitted diseases should be treated at the same time as your spouse, otherwise it will be difficult to cure.

3. Local treatment

Suitable for chronic urethritis, contraindicated in the acute phase. ①Urethra dilation. ②Intraurethral instillation of drugs. ③Endoscopic electrocautery.

3. Notes

During the onset period, pay attention to personal hygiene, wash underwear frequently; drink plenty of water and eat a light diet. If there is heat in the bladder and pain in the urethra, you can drink mung bean soup or eat mung bean porridge. You can also use black fungus to make soup or eat it cold.

4. Prevention

Eat more fruits rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, such as apples, oranges, etc. Eat fresh vegetables often. It is advisable to eat mushrooms: such as shiitake mushrooms, white fungus, black fungus, and mushrooms. Eat more nutritious dried fruits and seeds.
