Do pregnant mothers know how eggs are discharged from the body?

A baby is the fruit of the love of mom and dad. Witnessing the birth of a life is also the happiest thing for mom and dad. So how does the baby come into the world? We all know that the combination of sperm and egg is a fertilized egg, which then grows slowly in the mother's uterus. The egg lives in the body of the expectant mother and cannot be seen, touched or felt. Therefore, the egg will be discharged at a certain stage of maturity, so mothers who are planning to become pregnant must be prepared for conception.

Generally speaking, the follicle will be discharged when it reaches a diameter of about 20mm. Normally, we cannot see the egg before ovulation because it is very small. Only when it develops into a follicle can we see it under a microscope. At that time, it is already very large. The 10th to 14th day before menstruation is called the ovulation period.

A mature egg is generally larger than 20mm, and the smallest one is normal at more than 18mm. The growth from primary follicle to mature follicle can be divided into 8 levels. The first five levels are too small and take too long to grow, so they do not have much practical significance. The focus should be on the 6th level onwards. The diameter of the level 6 follicle is 5mm; after 5 days, it grows to 10mm and becomes the level 7 follicle; after another 5 days of development, it reaches the level 8 follicle with a diameter of 16mm. The 8th level follicles are mature follicles.

Therefore, it takes a total of 10 days for the 6th level follicle to grow to the 8th level follicle, which is exactly the follicular phase in a menstrual cycle. Starting from 16mm, after another 2-3 days, it will develop into a 20mm follicle and the egg will be released.

Compared to the 2 to 3 day lifespan of sperm, the lifespan of our eggs is shorter, with a maximum lifespan of only 48 hours. Their ability to fertilize is strongest within 24 hours after being released. If prospective parents want to conceive, it is best to start conceiving before the egg is released so that Mr. Sperm will not miss Miss Egg. Because the meeting and combination of egg and sperm must be completed within 48 hours of egg discharge. If the egg cannot meet the sperm to form a fertilized egg due to various reasons after being released, it will die after 48-72 hours, resulting in the failure of conception, and you can only wait for the next ovulation period.

The production of eggs is actually determined by the body's reproductive hormones, which include follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, estrogen, progesterone, etc. The secretion of these hormones is controlled and regulated by a series of factors in the brain, which is a very complex process. The most direct and intuitive diagnosis of egg development is through B-ultrasound monitoring, which can show the size of the egg and the quality of its development.
