Many pregnant women experience abdominal pain and bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy. Once this happens, many pregnant women are very scared, and some even think it is a sign of miscarriage. In fact, as long as we figure out the causes and treatments of early pregnancy bleeding, we can get rid of this condition as soon as possible and get through the delivery period smoothly and safely.

What are the causes of early pregnancy bleeding?

Abdominal pain in early pregnancy is mainly due to the enlargement of the uterus and the stretching of the round ligament of the uterus, which will cause abdominal pain. If it lasts for a short time and then disappears, it is normal. If it is in the abdomen, it is mostly located on one or both sides of the uterus in the lower abdomen, presenting as referred pain, dull pain or lack of pain, hemiplegia, bleeding, pelvic tenderness, drop in blood pressure and rapid heartbeat, and pelvic mass. The pain becomes more severe when walking longer distances or changing body positions. If you experience severe unilateral lower abdominal pain, accompanied by vaginal bleeding or fainting, it may be an ectopic pregnancy, and you should go to the hospital immediately.

Common ways to deal with early pregnancy bleeding :

1. Physiological abdominal pain : In the early stages of pregnancy, many expectant mothers always feel some stomach pain, sometimes accompanied by early pregnancy reactions such as vomiting. This is mainly caused by increased gastric acid secretion in the early stages of pregnancy. At this time, you should pay attention to diet adjustment. The meals should be light and easy to digest. You can eat some toasted steamed bread slices or soda crackers for breakfast. The discomfort will disappear naturally as the first trimester ends.

2. Pathological abdominal pain : If abdominal pain occurs in early pregnancy, especially lower abdominal pain, the first thing to consider is whether it is a pregnancy complication. Common complications include threatened miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. Method 1 to solve abdominal pain in early pregnancy: Ultrasound examination. If you have abdominal pain in early pregnancy and there is bleeding before the implantation of the fetus is confirmed, the obstetrician and gynecologist will usually perform an abdominal ultrasound examination on the pregnant woman. Because of the advanced technology nowadays, it is possible to confirm whether the embryonic sac has implanted in the center of the uterus six to seven weeks after the last menstrual period;

If an ultrasound is performed through the vagina, the embryonic sac can be seen a week earlier. Therefore, if you have abdominal pain in the early stages of pregnancy, and the pregnancy lasts more than seven weeks, and you cannot see the embryonic sac in the uterus, and there is abnormal bleeding, you should suspect that it is an ectopic pregnancy. It is necessary to do further examination immediately to avoid the ectopic pregnancy from rupturing and causing massive internal bleeding that could endanger your life.
