How long does it usually take to discover postpartum disease?

Many people know about postpartum sickness, but they don’t know what the symptoms are. Understanding these symptoms will help to detect the signs of postpartum sickness in a timely manner and help to better regulate and treat it. When postpartum sickness occurs, women often feel depressed. In addition, they often suffer from symptoms of some diseases due to external colds or some internal reasons, such as anemia, lack of qi and blood, etc.

How long does it usually take for postpartum disease to be discovered?

When it comes to how long it usually takes to discover postpartum illness, there is no doubt that this is a concern of every mother. Postpartum sickness mainly refers to symptoms such as joint pain and fear of cold that occur in a woman some time after giving birth. However, the exact time it takes to be discovered varies from person to person, and not all women with postpartum sickness experience symptoms at the same time.

Symptoms of postpartum illness

1. Excessive sadness, worry, crying in the wind, and depression can easily cause liver qi stagnation, leading to poor blood circulation. Stagnation of qi and blood can easily lead to loss of nutrition, and wind evil can invade accidentally. The clinical symptoms of this postpartum disease are: fear of cold, fear of wind, blindness, blurred vision (astigmatism), pain in the eyes and eye sockets, migraine, trance, and depression. In addition to pain when moving joints, there are also numbness, twitching, swelling and pain.

2. During the confinement period, women's muscles, bones and pores are wide open, their qi and blood are weak, and they are empty inside and outside. They are easily invaded by wind, cold and dampness. The clinical symptoms of this confinement disease are: numbness of limbs, difficulty in flexion and extension, headache, dizziness, swelling, stiffness, poor appetite, little and astringent urination, fear of cold and wind all over the body, sweating, pain when moving joints, and aggravated pain when exposed to cold and wind. They need to wear more clothes. Severe patients need to wear cotton clothes in hot summer. The theory of traditional Chinese medicine is "cold evil entering the bones." One reason why it is difficult to treat is that women have a natural recovery period of 100 days during the confinement period, and their muscles, bones and pores are closed, which can trap rheumatism and cold evil into the body and prevent them from being expelled. The pathogenic factors stay in the body for a long time, damaging the skin, muscles and bones, and leading to serious muscle and bone diseases.

3. Anemia caused by excessive blood loss after childbirth and intrauterine blood congestion can cause postpartum diseases such as physical weakness, dizziness, abdominal pain, and back pain.

4. Women are forbidden to have sexual intercourse during the confinement period. Excessive sexual intercourse will damage the yin and essence. Deficiency of both yin and essence will lead to emptiness of tendons and bones, which allow wind evil to invade. Its main clinical symptoms include fear of cold and wind, and joint pain, as well as heaviness of the whole body, weakness, back pain, and fatigue intolerance. Some patients also have rheumatic and rheumatoid symptoms. Since postpartum diseases are very difficult to cure, they are easier to treat during the confinement period. Therefore, once a woman gets sick during the confinement period, she must seek timely treatment. Otherwise, although postpartum diseases are not incurable, they are very difficult to treat.
