Many of my friends may not know what a colposcopy is, and even some male compatriots have never heard of a colposcopy. Today we will give you a detailed introduction to this colposcopy. For organs with safe passages, we can use special "mirrors" to check for any diseases, such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscope, electronic laryngoscope and otoscope, etc., and colposcopy is actually the "mirror" of vaginal examination. Electronic gastroscope is a gynecological disease diagnostic instrument. It can magnify images dozens of times and detect subtle changes that are invisible to the human eye. It is used for the diagnosis of various cervical diseases and sexual organ diseases. So what counts as a colposcopy? The so-called colposcopy is to look into the vagina in the mirror. Of course, in addition to observing vaginal diseases, it can also check the condition of the cervix. In fact, this thing is the same as gastroscopy and colonoscopy. In short, it is the widening of your eyes. Doctors can use this electronic mirror to clearly see the condition of women's vagina and cervix. So how is a colposcopy performed? Will there be any pain? In fact, colposcopy is very simple to perform and the patient does not feel too much discomfort. The doctor will first use a pair of duckbill forceps to push open your vagina to facilitate the insertion of the bathroom mirror, then he will ask you to disinfect it, and finally insert the bathroom mirror into your vagina, with a diameter of about 3cm. The most important and prominent feature of colposcopy is that it can take electronic photos or perform tissue biopsy of the diseased areas! After all the steps are completed, if a puncture biopsy is not performed, a skilled doctor can complete it in a few minutes! Generally speaking, colposcopy is not very painful. The patient should lie down on the examination bed in the lithotomy position, and the vagina will be pushed open with a speculum. There may be some discomfort at this time, but don't be too nervous. The speculum will be coated with lubricant to ensure that the speculum is inserted smoothly to prevent discomfort to the patient. After the vagina is pushed open, you can observe whether the vaginal wall and cervix are diseased. Then use saline to clean the cervix and use iodine to color it to determine the extent of the cervical disease. If there is no coloring, it indicates that the possibility of lesions is high, and further puncture biopsy is needed to confirm the diagnosis. For those who are suspected of genital warts, an acetowhite test can be performed to assist in the diagnosis. |
