When the leucorrhea appears blue, it is more likely to reflect the presence of bacteria in the vagina. Vaginal trichomoniasis will cause the leucorrhea to appear blue. Therefore, when you see abnormal leucorrhea, you should pay more attention to it. This is a sign of illness in the body and you should pay more attention to it. Going to the hospital for a gynecological examination can determine the specific cause of the disease. Once the cause is determined, treatment will be easier. Blue leucorrhea is generally caused by Trichomonas vaginitis. The most common symptom of Trichomonas vaginitis is increased vaginal discharge. During the acute phase, a large amount of vaginal discharge may soak the underwear, so patients often need to use sanitary napkins. The leucorrhea is yellow-green pus-like, thin in texture, and has a special odor. Vulvar itching is not as obvious as vaginitis caused by Candida albicans. It is often accompanied by a burning sensation in the vulva, pain during sexual intercourse, and urinary tract symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. Gynecological examination can show: scratches on the vulva, congestion and edema of the labia minora and vaginal opening. Due to the large amount of leucorrhea, it is common to see thin, purulent leucorrhea flowing out of the vaginal opening. The vaginal mucosa is congested and edematous, and there may be scattered red spots or straw-like red protrusions, called "straw-like vagina". There is a large amount of yellow, purulent, foamy leucorrhea accumulated in the posterior curvature of the vagina. The cervix is congested, and straw-like protrusions may also appear. If acute Trichomonas vaginitis is not treated or is not treated thoroughly, it can turn into chronic Trichomonas vaginitis. Experts from gynecological hospitals point out that the leucorrhea at this time will be less than that in the acute phase, and is mostly grayish white and rice-like, and still has a foul odor. When you have a urinary tract infection, you may experience symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. Gynecological examination revealed: the vulva and vaginal mucosa were light red or slightly congested, and there was grayish white, watery, foamy leucorrhea with a foul odor accumulated in the posterior curvature. Whether it is acute or chronic Trichomonas vaginitis, the diagnosis must be made with the help of laboratory tests. Patients should not do vaginal douching or apply vaginal medication before the examination and should not have sexual intercourse within 24 to 48 hours. The hanging drop method is the most commonly used laboratory test method for checking Trichomonas infection: drop a drop of warm saline on a glass slide, take a small amount of secretions from the posterior curvature of the vagina and mix it with the saline, and observe it immediately under a microscope. If active Trichomonas is found, the diagnosis can be confirmed. If the patient's clinical symptoms are suspicious, but Trichomonas are not found after multiple hanging drop examinations, Trichomonas culture can be done at this time. The accuracy rate is very high, reaching more than 98%. Smear staining is another method for examining Trichomonas. A smear of secretions is taken, stained, and then observed under a microscope. The accuracy of the diagnosis is related to the experience of the examiner. |
