What are the symptoms of placental abscess?

The so-called placental abruption means that the fetus has not been born normally, but the placenta has fallen out of the pregnant woman's uterus. This phenomenon is also called placental abruption. When this happens, it poses a serious risk to both the fetus and the pregnant woman, and may even be life-threatening. Placental abscess occurs suddenly and develops quickly. Once symptoms of placental abscess appear, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

Symptoms of placental abscess

The severity of the patient's overall or local condition can be determined based on the bleeding after placental abruption.

1. Lightweight:

It is most common during delivery, with symptoms including external bleeding and detachment of up to one-third of the placenta. Accompanied by mild abdominal pain, heavy and dark vaginal bleeding, and no obvious anemia symptoms.

2. Heavy Duty:

It is more common in pregnant women with severe hypertension syndrome. Sudden and persistent abdominal pain, back pain, etc. The larger the area of placental detachment, the stronger the pain; the larger the amount of blood accumulation, the stronger the pain. In severe cases, symptoms such as vomiting, cold sweats, and low blood pressure may occur, leading to shock. Vaginal bleeding may occur sometimes and not, sometimes less and sometimes more, but the severity of anemia symptoms in pregnant women does not correspond to the amount of bleeding. There may sometimes be invisible bleeding, and the placenta may be detached in more than one-third, accompanied by severe hematoma.

Causes of placental abscess

1. Vascular disease:

Pregnant women with chronic hypertension, chronic kidney disease and other diseases, if not treated in time, will cause capillary necrosis and poor blood flow, which can easily cause placental hematoma and lead to placental abruption. The greater the amount of bleeding, the larger the hematoma area, and the larger the placental area. About half of placental abruptions are caused by vascular disease.

2. Abdominal injury:

Expectant mothers must protect their abdomen, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. Once it suffers trauma such as impact, it is easy to cause rupture and bleeding of the blood vessels of the decidua basalis, resulting in placental abruption.

3. Premature rupture of membranes:

The fetal membrane ruptures, the amniotic fluid is excessive and flows rapidly, which causes the pressure on the uterine wall to decrease and the volume of the uterus to decrease, leading to dislocation and detachment of the uterine wall and placenta, damage to small blood vessels, and bleeding. This is also a cause of placental abruption. Sexual intercourse in late pregnancy and vaginitis in pregnant women are common causes of premature rupture of membranes. When twins are born, after the first baby is delivered or when the membranes are ruptured to release the amniotic fluid due to excessive amniotic fluid, the amniotic fluid flows out too quickly and can easily cause placental abruption.

4. Uterine venous pressure is high:

Improper posture in the late stages of pregnancy or during childbirth can cause venous compression, leading to congestion in the uterine veins and pelvic cavity, and ultimately placental abruption.
