What should I pay attention to during caesarean section?

With the development of society, more and more people choose to give birth by cesarean section, but the postoperative recovery of this operation is very important. In order to recover healthily and quickly, people need to pay special attention to diet, especially not to supplement nutrition blindly. They should formulate a reasonable diet plan according to their own physical condition and supplement in a healthy way, so that they can recover quickly.

1. Before cesarean delivery

It is not advisable to abuse high-end tonic products. Such as Korean ginseng, American ginseng, and squid. Because ginseng has cardiotonic and stimulant effects, squid is rich in organic acid substance - EPA, which can inhibit platelet aggregation and is not conducive to postoperative hemostasis and wound healing.

2. After Caesarean Section

1. Do not eat within 6 hours after cesarean section.

During laparotomy, the intestinal tract is irritated, which stimulates the intestinal function, slows down intestinal motility, and causes gas accumulation in the intestinal cavity, which can easily cause abdominal distension after surgery.

2. After 6 hours, it is advisable to take some gas-relieving foods (such as carrot soup, etc.). Postpartum women should also eat less or no foods that are easily fermented and produce a lot of gas, such as sugars, soybeans, soy milk, starch, etc., to prevent abdominal bloating.

3. After the mother passes gas, her diet can be changed from liquid to semi-liquid. The food should be nutritious and easy to digest. Such as egg soup, porridge, noodles, etc., and then the diet will gradually return to normal depending on the mother's physical condition.

4. Mothers who have just undergone surgery should avoid eating greasy meat soups such as chicken soup and crucian carp soup and lactation-promoting foods too early. They can be consumed 7 to 10 days after surgery.

5. Try not to eat out-of-season fruits and vegetables, because they have poor nutritional content and may contain ripening agents, which may affect the baby's health through breastfeeding.

6. Breastfeeding mothers should note that foods such as leeks and malt can reduce milk production, so it is best not to eat them.

7. Try to control salt intake to avoid postpartum edema.

8. After a caesarean section, it is best to eat all food and drinks warm, including fruits. It is recommended to warm them with hot water before eating.

9. Avoid greasy food within one week after surgery. After one week, you can start consuming high-protein foods such as fish, fresh milk, chicken essence and meat to help repair tissues.

10. Avoid eating dark-pigmented foods to prevent the scars from darkening in color.
