What causes uterine hydrops?

What causes uterine hydrops?

Hydrometra, also known as uterine effusion, is not a common phenomenon in clinical practice, but there are many reasons that can cause hydrometra, such as uterine bleeding due to various reasons, endometritis, or blockage of the cervical canal, etc., which can cause hydrometra. Patients will experience a feeling of pain in the lower abdomen and bloody secretions.

First, what is uterine effusion?

Uterine effusion, also known as intrauterine effusion, refers to the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity. It often occurs after the endometrium becomes inflamed, and the slightly viscous fluid exudates from the swollen cells of the endometrial tissue, which is gradually wrapped by the surrounding tissue to form a cystic mass. Uterine accumulation of fluid is less common. However, there are many causes of its onset. The main causes of uterine effusion are:

1. Uterine bleeding; 2. Endometritis; 3. Adhesion and blockage of the cervical canal; 4. Genital malformation.

Uterine effusion is mainly caused by pelvic inflammation, and its clinical manifestations include irregular menstruation, sexual dysfunction, infertility, etc. Therefore, uterine effusion must be treated systematically and scientifically as early as possible to avoid its prolongation and recurrence.

Second, is uterine effusion serious?

Is uterine effusion serious? Uterine fluid accumulation can cause female infertility and induce other pelvic inflammatory diseases.

1. Uterine effusion leads to infertility: If uterine effusion is not treated promptly and effectively, it will cause great harm. Uterine fluid accumulation can cause pelvic adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, etc. in women, and in severe cases it can cause infertility. If you find that you have lower abdominal pain, lumbosacral pain, increased vaginal discharge, lower abdominal tenderness and cord-like thickening during gynecological examination, you may have chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and need active examination and treatment.

1. Uterine effusion causes pelvic inflammation: The main cause of uterine effusion is inflammation, such as chronic pelvic inflammation. A few cases are caused by ectopic pregnancy rupture, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer. For uterine effusion caused by pelvic inflammation, it is best to do a posterior fornix puncture to identify the nature of the fluid.

Third, does uterine effusion need treatment?

Whether uterine effusion requires treatment depends on the amount of uterine effusion. Under normal circumstances, there is a small amount of fluid in the pelvic and abdominal cavity, which mainly plays the role of lubricating the surface of the organs and reducing friction between the organs, and also has a certain defensive function.

In addition, during the ovulation period of each month, the follicle ruptures and the follicular fluid flows into the pelvic and abdominal cavity. At this time, an ultrasound examination will also show a small amount of fluid accumulation in the uterine rectal fossa.

In addition, a small amount of menstrual blood may flow back into the abdominal cavity during menstruation, which may also cause a small amount of pelvic fluid accumulation. A small amount of fluid accumulation in the rectouterine fossa is a normal physiological phenomenon and there is no need to worry too much. First consider whether the ultrasound examination was done during the menstrual period or ovulation period, and recheck if necessary.

Generally, physiological pelvic effusion can be absorbed by itself and does not require treatment. Do not blindly take antibiotics or certain Chinese patent medicines for clearing heat and removing dampness, so as to avoid the abuse of antibiotics or drugs.
