What is the reason for horizontal lines on women's big toe nails?

Human nails are relatively hard tissues and have specific functions. They are like a shield, protecting the fingertips from harm. However, in life, many nail support problems are prone to occur, such as the nails becoming very brittle, or becoming concave, or vertical lines appearing on the nails, etc. However, horizontal lines on the nails are rare. What causes this symptom?

First, different concave changes, different diseases

Nail concavity refers to the appearance of horizontal lines, vertical lines, spots, etc. on the nails. Traditional Chinese medicine points out that this change in nails is closely related to the poor function of the body's tissues and organs, destruction of tissue structure, atrophy and other pathological changes.

Second, horizontal lines:

The horizontal lines on the nails are a record of lesions that have occurred. In other words, when horizontal lines appear on the nails, there must be some pathological changes in the body. Generally speaking, at the beginning the horizontal lines are only at the bottom of the nail. As the nail grows, they gradually move upward, which indicates that the onset of the disease is getting closer.

Horizontal lines appear on the nails.

It is a precursor to kidney disease or myocardial infarction

Third, vertical lines:

The surface of the nails is not smooth and has straight lines. This usually happens after overwork or overusing the brain. When you lack sleep, these vertical lines will appear very clearly. If vertical lines persist, it may be a chronic disease of the internal organs. If not treated, the nails will become uneven or even crack as the disease progresses.

Fourth, spots:

A small number of white spots on the nails are usually a sign of calcium deficiency, silicon deficiency or parasitic disease; a large number of white spots may be a sign of neurasthenia; and thin yellow spots on the nails may indicate a digestive system disease; if black spots appear on the nails, be careful, as mild cases may be just overwork and malnutrition, while severe cases may be a precursor to gastroptosis, gastric cancer, or uterine cancer.

Fifth, nail health circle

The little sun is the white half-moon shape at the base of the nail, called the nail lunula, also known as the health circle. Generally speaking, the best condition is that the lunula occupies 1/5 of the entire nail. It is not normal if it is too large, too small, or too faint. People with too large a lunula are prone to high blood pressure and stroke; if the lunula is too small, it means that the blood pressure is too low. People who cannot see the lunula at all usually have symptoms of anemia or neurasthenia.

At the same time, the best color for half-moon nails is milky white. Blue indicates respiratory problems and a high risk of cardiovascular disease; blue indicates poor blood circulation; and red indicates heart failure.
