Endometrial biopsy results

Uterine wall puncture biopsy is a common new item in gynecological physical examination. There are many common problems in uterine wall puncture biopsy. So what is the practical significance of uterine wall puncture biopsy and what are the results? What are the different types of results for a uterine wall biopsy? Let’s find out.

Uterine wall puncture biopsy is to scrape the uterine wall cells for examination. Provide important diagnostic evidence for clinicians. Generally, a curettage and uterine wall puncture biopsy are performed first, and then a bilateral fallopian tube patency test is performed. This can prevent the spread of uterine wall tuberculosis. If uterine wall tuberculosis is found during the puncture biopsy, anti-tuberculosis treatment should be carried out first, and then a bilateral fallopian tube patency test can be considered. Taboos before the test: Sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited three days before the test. The test should be done 3-7 days after the menstrual period ends.

Diseases related to uterine wall puncture biopsy

Endometrial cancer, uterine intrauterine polyps, irregular menstruation, infertility, uterine infertility, infertility due to corpus luteum insufficiency, fallopian tube tuberculosis, postmenopausal endometrial cancer, abnormal uterine bleeding due to anovulatory imbalance, and uterine and ovarian annular sex cord tumors.

If the test result is positive, possible symptoms for a diagnostic curettage are:

(1) Abnormal uterine bleeding requires confirmation or elimination of endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, or other malignancies.

(2) For menstrual disorders such as abnormal uterine bleeding or amenorrhea due to imbalanced function, it is necessary to understand the changes in the uterine wall and its response to estrogen.

(3) Infertility must be diagnosed if there is anovulation.

(4) Patients suspected of having uterine wall tuberculosis.
