How to self-check for breast pain?

In fact, in life, everyone can check some conditions by themselves. For example, if you have breast soreness, female friends can first check the appearance and skin of the breasts, such as whether the skin has eczema or other diseases, and then press the breasts regularly with their hands to check for the presence of lumps, and understand whether the lumps will cause pain, etc.

Self-reflection in the mirror

Face the mirror, put your hands on your hips, and observe the shape of your breasts. Then, raise your arms above your head and carefully observe whether there are any changes in the shape and contour of the breasts on both sides, whether there are any abnormalities such as redness, swelling, rash, distended superficial veins, skin folds, orange peel-like changes, etc. Observe whether the nipples are on the same level, whether they are raised, retracted, or sunken, whether there is any secretion overflowing from the nipples, and whether the color of the areola has changed. Finally, lower your arms, put your hands on your hips, push your elbows back, tighten your chest muscles, and observe whether the breasts on both sides are equal and symmetrical.

Supine touch method

Lie flat on your back with your right arm raised above your head and a small pillow placed under your right shoulder to flatten your right breast. Put the four fingers of your left hand together and use the palm of your fingertips to check for lumps or other changes in various parts of the breast.

Use the three fingers of your right hand (index finger, middle finger, and ring finger) to slowly, steadily, and carefully touch the breasts. Check the left breast by gradually moving forward or backward, starting from the outside of the breast and moving at least three times until the nipple. Inspection in an up-down or radial direction may also be used, but care should be taken not to miss any part. At the same time, check whether the axillary lymph nodes are swollen.

Finally, gently squeeze the nipple between your thumb and index finger and observe for nipple discharge. If you notice cloudy, yellowish or bloody discharge, seek medical attention immediately.

Shower test

When you shower, breast problems are easier to detect because your skin is moist. The method is to slowly slide the palm of one finger and carefully check whether there are lumps in various parts of the breast and armpits.

If female friends find any abnormalities during breast self-examination, they should seek medical attention in time to achieve the goal of early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment.
