What are the treatments for cervical disease?

Cervical diseases include many common gynecological diseases, such as cervicitis and cervical erosion. Although these diseases are relatively common, they can still cause great harm to the body if not treated in time. To treat cervical disease, you must first diagnose the type of disease and then prescribe the right medicine. Common treatments include local medication, physical therapy, etc.

1. Topical medication

(1) Vaginal flushing: You can use 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution to flush the vagina before applying the medicine.

(2) Topical medication: silver nitrate, potassium dichromate solution.

2. Physical therapy

It is a widely used treatment method at present, with the advantages of short treatment course and good efficacy. It is suitable for cases with more severe inflammation and deeper inflammatory infiltration. Commonly used methods include electric ironing, laser therapy or cryotherapy. The disadvantage is the high recurrence rate.

(1) Electric ironing: This method is relatively simple and is suitable for cases with deeper erosion and larger erosion area.

(2) Cryotherapy: Select an appropriate cryoprobe that can completely cover the lesion and slightly exceed its range by 2 to 3 mm. Press the freezing probe tightly against the cervical erosion site and start the freezer, performing single or repeated freezing according to the erosion surface and depth.

(3) Laser treatment: Use CO2 laser to treat erosion, so that the eroded tissue will be carbonized and scab-formed. After the scab falls off, the wound surface will be covered by new epithelium.

(4) Microwave therapy: Microwave is a new type of physical therapy. When the microwave electrode touches the local diseased tissue, it instantly generates high heat in a very small area and achieves the purpose of coagulation.

(5) Bohm lamp treatment: Bohm lamp therapy device is a new instrument for treating cervical erosion. It irradiates the erosion surface until it becomes a uniform grayish white. After the operation, antibiotics are used for 10 days, bathing in a tub is prohibited for 2 weeks, and sexual intercourse is prohibited for 1 month.

(6) Infrared coagulation method: Infrared rays are used to irradiate erosions, causing third-degree burns. Local tissues coagulate, necrotize, and fall off, forming non-inflammatory superficial ulcers. Granulation tissue grows and is eventually covered by new squamous epithelium and heals.

3. Surgery

Cervical cone resection: This method can be considered for patients with severe erosion, deep erosion, papillary erosion, or patients who have not been cured by the above-mentioned treatments.
