What to do if you have nausea and vomiting during pregnancy

When you just get pregnant, you will have some early pregnancy symptoms, which often lead to nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and other symptoms. At this time, you need to adjust your condition in time. You can eat some of your favorite foods and some snacks. You should eat small meals frequently and avoid expensive and greasy foods. Drink plenty of water and maintain an optimistic and cheerful attitude. You can take some vitamin B6 appropriately, which can relieve nausea and vomiting.

Eat cold food.

Try eating foods that are cool or at room temperature, as the smell of these foods is not as strong as hot foods.

A little snack at night.

Place some simple snacks, such as cookies, by your bed. When you wake up, you can eat a few cookies first, then rest for 20 to 30 minutes before getting up. If you wake up in the middle of the night feeling nauseous, you can also eat some cookies to relieve the pain.

Eat small, frequent meals.

Or eat some snacks at any time and don't let your stomach be empty for a moment (an empty stomach is the easiest to cause nausea). Also, eat bland foods that are rich in protein, which can help curb nausea. But, all in all, you still have to eat something that can whet your appetite.

Avoid high fat.

Avoid eating high-fat foods as they take longer to digest. Avoid greasy, spicy, sour, and fried foods, which can irritate your already fragile digestive system.

Take small sips of water.

Don't drink too much! Although drinking water is very important to prevent dehydration, don't drink it all at once and fill your stomach, because then your stomach will not be able to hold other anti-vomiting foods. If you vomit frequently, try a sports drink that contains glucose, salt, and potassium to help replace lost electrolytes.

Avoid taking pregnancy vitamins on an empty stomach.

Instead of taking your prenatal vitamins in the morning on an empty stomach, try taking them with food or at night before bed. You can also ask your doctor if you can temporarily switch to a pregnancy supplement that contains less iron, since your fragile digestive system is already having a hard time tolerating this mineral.
