Drug therapy

The treatment of Candida vulvourethritis includes topical medication, systemic medication and combination medication (oral plus topical). Choose local or systemic antifungal drugs; such as gel disinfectants, and decide the length of treatment based on the patient's clinical classification. The earliest specific active drug used to treat yeast infections was polymyxin, a polyene antibiotic isolated in the early 1950s. Since then, many antifungal drugs have been developed.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Treatment should be aimed at clearing away heat and dampness, detoxifying and resolving turbidity. Commonly used prescriptions are as follows:

Acorus calamus 20g, Plantago seed 10g, Phellodendron chinense 10g, Atractylodes macrocephala 10g, Salvia miltiorrhiza 30g, Lotus seed heart 10g, Patrinia 30g, Honeysuckle 30g, Smilax glabra 30g, Raw licorice 10g. If the pain is obvious, add 30g of Hedyotis diffusa and 30g of Verbena; if the secretion is heavy, add 10g of Akebia and 1.0g of Alisma.

This prescription contains both Plantago seeds and lotus seed core for clearing away heat and removing dampness, as well as Acorus calamus, Phellodendron amurense, Patrinia salsa, Honeysuckle vine, Smilax glabra, and raw licorice for detoxifying and clearing turbidity.

The symptoms of bacterial urethritis of spleen and kidney deficiency type are continuous urination, which occurs when exerting oneself, or there is white turbid discharge from the urethra, excessive leucorrhea in women, soreness in the waist and knees, loose and thin stools, pale tongue, and soft pulse. This is due to long-term illness not being treated properly, which damages the spleen and kidneys. Treatment should focus on strengthening the spleen and kidney, promoting dampness and clearing turbidity.
