What are the causes of pelvic inflammatory disease?

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a relatively common gynecological disease. If it is not treated in time, it will easily turn into chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. At this time, the condition is relatively stubborn and the treatment time is often relatively long. There are many causes of pelvic inflammatory disease, which are mainly related to some infections, such as infection after miscarriage, infection from gynecological surgery, and lack of attention to good hygiene during menstruation, etc., which can easily induce pelvic inflammatory disease.

1. Infection after abortion or miscarriage

Abortion is very harmful to a woman's body and can also cause various inflammations.

Whether it is a miscarriage or a postpartum woman, her physical condition will be weaker than before. The cervical opening has not yet completely closed at this time, and bacteria can easily exist in the lower body or cervix, causing pelvic infection.

2. Infection after various gynecological surgeries

Many gynecological diseases can be treated through surgery, but if there is improper operation during the operation and there is already varying degrees of inflammation in the reproductive system, it may lead to postoperative infection.

Some patients do not pay attention to the hygiene of their private parts after surgery, or do not follow the doctor's advice and have sex too early. These unclean habits may be infected with bacteria and cause pelvic inflammatory disease.

3. Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation

It is easy for women to have bacteria during menstruation because menstruation is the shedding of the endometrium and the presence of blood clots, which creates good conditions for the production of bacteria. If women do not pay attention to their personal hygiene during this period, or use unqualified sanitary napkins, or even have sex, these will give bacteria the opportunity to create infection and eventually lead to pelvic inflammatory disease.

4. Spread of inflammation to adjacent reproductive systems

If there is inflammation in the adjacent areas of the female reproductive system, these bacteria can spread directly and cause pelvic inflammation in women. Common adjacent inflammations include appendicitis and peritonitis. If chronic cervicitis is not treated in time, the inflammation can also cause pelvic inflammatory disease through the lymphatic circulation.

Although pelvic inflammatory disease is a relatively common gynecological disease, its symptoms are not very obvious. Female friends must pay more attention to it and go to regular hospitals for routine gynecological examinations.
