What causes back pain during confinement?

It is quite common to experience back pain during the confinement period. The medical name is postpartum back pain. There are many reasons for postpartum back pain. If the new mother is calcium deficient, it is easy to cause postpartum back pain. In addition, during the period of breastfeeding, excessive fatigue is prone to occur, which can also easily lead to postpartum back pain. Therefore, for new mothers, they should avoid bending over frequently in daily life and avoid standing or squatting for long periods of time.

Physiological calcium deficiency. After pregnancy, the expectant mother's various body systems will undergo certain changes due to the influence of hormones in the body during pregnancy. Calcium is involved in bone metabolism. The regular diet of pregnant women can no longer meet the calcium needs of both the mother and the baby, so pregnant women need calcium supplements. Pregnancy for ten months is arduous, and childbirth is a baptism of life, or a huge revolution, which poses a great challenge to women's bodies. The human body is in a relatively weak state after giving birth. Postpartum mothers consume a lot of energy. At the same time, many mothers insist on breastfeeding, and calcium loss is also very serious. Calcium deficiency can easily cause back pain.

Overwork: Due to pregnancy and childbirth, the skeletal system will change, the bone joints will become slightly loose, the bone and muscle ligaments will be stretched, and the elasticity will decrease. Compared with men, women's muscle and ligament tension is relatively weaker. In addition, some mothers have poor physical fitness, improper rest after childbirth, and stand or sit for a long time too early, which makes the sacroiliac ligament that relaxes during pregnancy unable to recover, causing strain of muscles, ligaments and connective tissue and causing pain.

Improper posture: When feeding their babies, mothers like to lower their heads and watch the babies sucking milk. Since each feeding time is long and there are many times a day, it is easy to cause fatigue. In addition, in order to take good care of the babies at night or for the convenience of breastfeeding, mothers are often accustomed to sleeping in a fixed posture. Faced with the weak babies, they can't let go. In order to take better care of the babies, new mothers have no time to take care of themselves, and always hold the babies in their arms. The fixed posture for a long time causes unilateral muscle fatigue and leads to postpartum back pain.
