What causes pain on the right side of a woman’s waist?

Right side low back pain is a condition that many women are prone to in life, and many reasons may cause this symptom, including common lumbar muscle strain, urinary tract infection problems, and kidney deficiency and kidney disease.

1. Lumbar muscle strain: Injury of the lumbar muscle membrane and ligaments, chronic fatigue strain, muscle stiffness, and continuous accumulation of excessive lactic acid in the local area inhibit the normal metabolism of the lumbar muscles. This type of low back pain is often limited to the muscles of the original injured area, and the farthest extends to the buttocks or thighs. Symptoms are mostly soreness.

2. Urinary tract infection: Urinary tract infection extending to the renal pelvis will cause swelling and pain in the lower back. In severe cases, the pain will radiate along the ureter to the perineum. This is more common in women because their urethra is short and straight, and the external opening of the urethra is close to the anus, where E. coli often parasitizes. In addition, due to the physiological characteristics of women, the urethral opening has more chances of being contaminated. If hygiene is neglected, urinary tract infection is likely to occur. Especially during the honeymoon period, frequent sexual intercourse makes women more likely to suffer from urinary tract infections.

3. Cold waist: The waist is attacked by wind, dampness and cold, which can also cause inflammation of the waist muscles and ligaments and cause low back pain.

4. Ankylosing spondylitis: pain and/or stiffness in the buttocks, hips, lower back and/or back, especially when lying down for a long time (at night) or sitting for a long time, difficulty turning over, obvious stiffness in the lower back when getting up in the morning or standing up after sitting for a long time, but the pain is relieved after activity. Some patients feel severe pain in the buttocks and hips, which occasionally radiates to the surrounding areas. The diagnosis can be confirmed by DR film or MRI examination.

5. Kidney deficiency and kidney disease: Low back pain is the most common symptom of kidney deficiency, which is often accompanied by decreased sexual function, decreased libido, premature aging, forgetfulness and insomnia, loss of appetite, bone and joint pain, soreness in the waist and knees, fatigue intolerance and weakness. Causes: soreness, weakness, heavy pain, likes to be rubbed and pressed, worse pain after exertion, relieved by lying down, pale complexion, irritability, dry mouth, likes warmth and is afraid of cold, cold hands and feet, and lumbar disc herniation. You can go to the nephrology department for ECT examination to confirm the diagnosis.
