What is acute endometritis?

What is acute endometritis? Acute endometritis is an acute inflammation caused by infection of the endometrium. It is a common disease among women. Therefore, it is recommended that every woman develop good hygiene habits, pay attention to private hygiene, take frequent baths, and change underwear frequently to reduce the infection channels of gynecological inflammation.

reason:

1. Bacterial infection

The types of infectious bacteria include: Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, anaerobic bacteria, and gonococci. In addition, there are infections with pathogens such as mycoplasma. According to the infecting pathogens, it can be divided into tuberculous and non-tuberculous types.

(1) Tuberculous endometritis is caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and is often secondary to fallopian tube tuberculosis.

(2) Non-tuberculous endometritis is more common and is caused by common pathogens. It is common during menstruation, abortion and after delivery: such as retained placenta and fetal membranes during delivery, sexual intercourse during menstruation, prolonged uterine bleeding, infection from incomplete abortion, gynecological examinations that are not properly disinfected, ascending infection from intrauterine operations such as artificial abortion and various vaginal surgeries, ascending infection from cervicitis and vaginitis, and infection caused by endometrial polyps or submucosal myoma necrosis.

2. Classification by infection method

(1) Placement of intrauterine contraceptive devices or radium needles in the uterine cavity, cervical dilation and scraping, or cervical electrocautery may also cause acute endometritis.

(2) Unhygienic menstruation, sexual intercourse during menstruation, or irregular sexual life can bring pathogens from outside the body or inside the vagina or cervix into the uterine cavity. The infection can be caused by a sexually transmitted disease, but sometimes it occurs without an obvious cause.

(3) Elderly women are more susceptible to senile vaginitis, which may further develop into endometritis, due to the decrease in estrogen levels, decreased vaginal acidity, and reduced cervical mucus plugs.
