What causes nipple discharge? These reasons are most likely

It is quite common for female friends to have nipple secretions. Sometimes it is a normal phenomenon, such as it often occurs during lactation, but sometimes it is abnormal and may be caused by some breast disease.

1. This situation is caused by many reasons. For example, long-term use of contraceptives can cause secretions from the nipple. Purulent secretions may be caused by inflammation of the mammary ducts. Bloody secretions may be caused by tumors compressing the milk ducts. Tumors can be divided into benign and malignant. It depends on the nature of the secretion, whether there are any lumps in the breast, and whether there are any changes in the secretion before and after menstruation. If the secretion is bloody and there are lumps in the breast, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination.

2. It is normal to have nipple discharge. If the secretions contain blood, you should go to the hospital for a detailed examination.

Guidance:

Please rest assured that this is because the nipple has been deeply sunken in the areola skin for a long time and has not been cleaned well. Therefore, you can take good care of your breasts and keep them clean in your daily life.

3. Causes of nipple discharge in non-lactating women

(1) Suffering from diencephalic diseases or pituitary lesions, such as diencephalic tumors and its adjacent tissues, prolactin adenoma, pineal tumor, hyperpituitarism, acromegaly, etc.;

(2) Suffering from endocrine system diseases, such as primary hypothyroidism, adrenal tumor, etc.;

(3) Suffering from chest diseases, such as chronic mastitis, chest herpes zoster, chest wall injury, etc.;

(4) Side effects of drugs, such as chlorpromazine, morphine, reserpine, metoclopramide, imipramine, methyldopa, and hormone drugs such as birth control pills, can cause endocrine dysfunction in the human body and stimulate prolactin secretion, thus leading to breast discharge;

(5) Local stimulation of the breast and systemic stress response, such as frequent playing with or sucking of the nipples, severe mental trauma, sudden changes in lifestyle habits, etc., can also promote the secretion of prolactin, leading to a transient increase in prolactin and causing breast discharge.
