Anaerobic vaginal infection, these symptoms are most likely to occur

The female vagina is very susceptible to anaerobic infection, which is determined by the structure of the female urinary system. It is also because of this that female friends are prone to a variety of gynecological diseases. Vaginal infection with anaerobic bacteria usually causes the following symptoms.

1. Female genital tract and pelvic infections Almost all female genital tract infections caused by non-sexual transmission include anaerobic infections. Common pathogens include Peptostreptococci, Prevotella (especially Prevotella diluenta and Prevotella saccharolyticus), Bacteroides fragilis, and Clostridium (including Clostridium perfringens), while Bacteroides fragilis is less common in intra-abdominal infections. Patients who use intrauterine contraceptive devices are susceptible to infection with actinomycetes and Eubacterium modatum. The inducing factors that are conducive to the invasion of the above-mentioned bacteria and cause infection are: insufficient local blood supply; the presence of damaged or necrotic tissue; the presence of foreign matter such as intrauterine contraceptive devices; the growth and reproduction of exogenous microorganisms causing tissue destruction, creating conditions for the invasion of normal flora of the lower reproductive tract; pregnancy; abortion; malignant tumors and uterine fibroids; radiotherapy; gynecological and obstetric surgery, cervical electrocautery, etc. Anaerobic bacteria can cause a variety of female reproductive tract infections, including endometritis and pyometra, myometritis, parametrial connective tissue inflammation, pelvic cellulitis and abscess, pelvic thrombophlebitis, labia abscess, Bartholin's glands and abscess, vaginitis, vaginal wall abscess, salpingitis or abscess, ovarian abscess, wound infection after cesarean section or hysterectomy, septic abortion, puerperal fever, chorioamnionitis, etc. Uterine gas gangrene caused by Clostridium perfringens is a rare and serious complication. The patient has extremely severe toxemia, extensive necrosis of the uterine muscle, leading to uterine perforation and a high mortality rate. Most female reproductive tract infections are mixed infections, with anaerobic and aerobic bacteria mixed together.

2. Urinary tract infection Although there may be many aerobic and anaerobic bacteria colonizing the urethral orifice, perineum, vagina and external genital tract, and bacteria can easily enter the bladder, anaerobic bacteria rarely cause urinary tract infection (1% to 9%). It is worth noting that anaerobic bacteria detected in urine specimens may come from the normal urethra, and the count may reach 103-104, or even more, so it cannot be considered as evidence of infection. Urine specimens should be obtained by suprapubic bladder puncture.

3. The symptoms of vaginitis are caused by anaerobic infection. Both husband and wife need to be treated to prevent cross infection.

Guidance:

It is recommended that you can take metronidazole orally for treatment, 0.4 grams three times a day, and use metronidazole vaginal suppositories for treatment. Avoid spicy food and sexual intercourse. Go to the hospital's gynecology department for a follow-up examination after 7 days of treatment. You can have sexual intercourse only after recovery. I wish you a speedy recovery.
