Menstruation is what we often call menstruation in our daily life. The menstrual cycle is generally 28 to 30 days. However, due to the development of today's society, people often stay up late to work overtime, have irregular diets, eat indiscriminately, etc., which can cause irregular and chaotic menstruation. However, many people don’t know what causes irregular menstruation. Let’s take a look at it below. Menstruation is regulated by the interaction between reproductive hormones from the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ovary. During the menstrual period and proliferation period of the menstrual cycle, the levels of estradiol and progesterone in the blood are very low, thereby weakening or eliminating the negative feedback effect on the pituitary gland and hypothalamus, leading to increased secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone by the hypothalamus, which in turn leads to increased secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone by the pituitary gland, thereby causing follicle development and a gradual increase in estrogen secretion. At this time, estrogen stimulates the endometrium to enter the proliferative phase. Luteinizing hormone increases the secretion of progesterone, leading to ovulation. During this period, both estrogen and progesterone levels increase. This produces a negative feedback inhibitory effect on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, thereby reducing the levels of ovulation-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, leading to corpus luteum degeneration, and then reducing estrogen and progesterone levels. The endometrium loses the support of these two hormones and begins to shed and bleed, which is when menstruation occurs. Causes of irregular menstruation 1. Constipation may cause menstrual disorders in women. When the rectum is overfilled with stool, the cervix is pushed forward and the uterine body tilts backward. If the uterus retroverts repeatedly over a long period of time, the veins in the broad ligament will be compressed and blocked, the uterine wall will become congested and lose elasticity. If the uterus remains in a retroverted position for a long time, low back pain and menstrual disorders will occur. 2. Various household appliances and electronic devices will generate different electromagnetic waves during use. These electromagnetic waves will have a bad effect on women's endocrine and reproductive organs if they act on the human body for a long time, leading to endocrine disorders and menstrual disorders. 3. If women are exposed to cold during menstruation , the blood vessels in the pelvis will constrict, leading to ovarian dysfunction, which can cause too little menstrual flow or even amenorrhea. 4. If women of childbearing age are under long-term stress, the function of the pituitary gland will be suppressed, causing the ovaries to no longer secrete female hormones and ovulate, and menstruation will begin to become disordered. Similarly, long-term depression, sulking or bad mood can also affect menstruation. 5. Unhealthy living habits can also cause irregular menstruation. |
