How to treat ectopic pregnancy conservatively?

Generally speaking, the main symptoms of ectopic pregnancy in the early stages include vaginal bleeding, amenorrhea, severe abdominal pain, etc. Once an ectopic pregnancy occurs, it should be treated as soon as possible, otherwise it may even endanger life. Here are some methods of conservative treatment of ectopic pregnancy.

1. Drug treatment of ectopic pregnancy

Chemotherapy is usually administered systemically, but can also be administered locally. Methotrexate (MTX) is commonly used as a systemic medication. Its therapeutic mechanism is to inhibit the proliferation of trophoblasts, destroy the villi, and cause necrosis, shedding, and absorption of embryonic tissue, thus avoiding surgery. The commonly used dose is 0.4 mg/kg.d, intramuscular injection, and one course of treatment is 5 days. The application of chemotherapy may not be successful in every case.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment

Currently, non-surgical treatment mainly relies on conservative treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. However, traditional Chinese medicine takes a long time to kill the embryo during pregnancy, and during the conservative treatment process, there is a possibility that the embryo will continue to develop and cause fallopian tube rupture. In addition, sometimes surgery is needed because the treatment is not thorough, which can easily waste the patient's time, physical strength and money.

3. Salpingectomy

For patients who have already given birth and cannot undergo fenestration surgery due to severe damage to the fallopian tube rupture, a unilateral salpingectomy can be performed. For most women who want to have children, a window surgery can be performed on the ruptured fallopian tube, which can retain a 25% chance of fertility for the patient.

4. Conservative surgery for ectopic pregnancy

The treatment principle of ectopic pregnancy is mainly surgical treatment. There are two types of surgical methods for open abdominal surgery of ectopic pregnancy. One is to remove the affected fallopian tube; the other is to retain the affected fallopian tube, which is conservative surgery.
