What does 8mm endometrium mean?

What does 8mm endometrium mean?

An endometrium of eight millimeters does not mean anything, and women should not be alarmed, because the endometrium has its own cycle of changes. Usually, after the endometrium thickens to more than ten millimeters, it will fall off naturally, which is what we call menstruation.

1. Proliferative phase: Around the 5th to 9th day of the menstrual cycle, the endometrium is very thin.

2. Secretory phase: From the 15th to the 19th day of menstruation, which is 1 to 5 days after ovulation, the endometrium continues to thicken and the gland further increases in size and curvature. Around the 20th to 24th day of the menstrual cycle, which is 6 to 10 days after ovulation, the endometrium shows a high degree of secretory activity, and the curvature and expansion of the gland reach a peak. In the late secretory phase, the thickness of the endometrium is about 5 to 6 mm.

3. Premenstrual period: About the 25th to 28th day of the menstrual cycle, which is 11 to 14 days after ovulation, the thickness of the endometrium decreases by 1/5 to 1/3.

4. Menstrual period: approximately from the 1st to the 4th day of the menstrual cycle, the main changes are endometrial bleeding and shedding. The endometrium changes at different stages of the menstrual cycle. Your current situation is that the endometrium is thin. It is recommended that you come to the hospital to take an endometrial sample for pathological examination to clarify the cause of the endometrial changes and provide targeted treatment.

5. Generally speaking, the endometrium will swell to 10mm and then fall off naturally when your menstruation comes. In your case, the double layer of the endometrium is 8mm thick. If you were to have your menstruation every 30 days, it is not the right time for you yet. The endometrium needs to grow for a while longer. In order to get your menstruation on time, it makes sense for the doctor to give you medication so that you can resume your normal menstrual cycle.

6. It is recommended to follow the doctor's advice and let the menstruation come on time under the doctor's guidance; you can also observe for a period of time and have regular check-ups. When the endometrium grows to about 10mm, it will fall off naturally and the menstruation will come; it will just be later than taking medication. Weigh the pros and cons yourself.
