Can thin endometrium cause amenorrhea?

Thin endometrium can lead to amenorrhea. Although thin endometrium is a common disease, its impact is relatively large. It not only affects amenorrhea, but also affects normal conception ability.

1. Thin endometrium is a common disease in women. Under the influence of certain estrogen, if the endometrium cannot reach a thickness of 8 mm during ultrasound examination, it is judged as thin endometrium. There are systemic causes for thin endometrium. Common causes include low estrogen levels, insufficient progesterone levels, ovulation disorders, and lack of growth hormone. There are also local causes, such as endometrial damage, adhesions, and loss. For some patients, the endometrium has not yet recovered after artificial abortion, which can also lead to thin endometrium.

2. When diagnosing thin endometrium, it must be under a certain estrogen level. If the estrogen level is not enough, and the endometrial thickness does not reach 8 mm, it cannot be diagnosed as thin endometrium. It can only be said that the thin endometrium is caused by insufficient estrogen. Therefore, if a patient is found to have a thin endometrium during an examination, the estrogen level should be checked at the same time.

It is mostly caused by spleen deficiency, poor appetite, malnutrition, improper weight loss, excessive fatigue, and long-term illness that damages yin and blood. This phenomenon can easily lead to delayed menstruation and endometrial proliferation disorders. Common symptoms include scanty and light-colored menstruation that stops after one to two days or stops with just a few drops, dull pain in the lower abdomen, dizziness, palpitations, sallow complexion, pale nails, pale lips and tongue, and dry skin.
