Gestational trophoblastic disease, do you know what the symptoms are?

The placenta will appear after a woman becomes pregnant. If the trophoblastic cells of the placenta are diseased, a series of diseases will occur. People call it gestational trophoblastic disease. Patients will experience many symptoms. The following is a detailed introduction.

1. Complete hydatidiform mole is characterized by vaginal bleeding after menopause, which recurs repeatedly and gradually increases; abnormal enlargement and softening of the uterus, and elevated blood hCG; paroxysmal lower abdominal pain; vomiting during pregnancy, which occurs earlier than normal pregnancy; hypertension, edema, and proteinuria; accelerated heartbeat, moist skin, and tremors.

2. The symptoms of partial hydatidiform mole are basically the same as those of complete hydatidiform mole, but to a lesser degree. Clinically, it may manifest as incomplete abortion or missed abortion.

3. When the patient has gestational trophoblastic disease, the patient will experience symptoms of vaginal bleeding, and after the evacuation of the hydatidiform mole or miscarriage, irregular vaginal bleeding symptoms will occur.

It may manifest as amenorrhea followed by vaginal bleeding after a period of normal menstruation; luteinized ovarian cysts; generally no abdominal pain symptoms; acute abdominal pain may occur when the luteinized cyst twists or ruptures; symptoms of false pregnancy, such as enlarged breasts, pigmented areola, and even colostrum-like secretions.

4. Placental site trophoblastic tumors are relatively rare, generally do not metastasize, have a good prognosis, and are more common in children of childbearing age. Symptoms include irregular vaginal bleeding or menorrhagia after menopause.

What are the complications of gestational trophoblastic disease?

1. Congenital malformations of the fetus

It is a mixed blessing. On the one hand, the arrival of a new life is welcomed with joy, but the appearance of a baby with deformities is painful. Babies with congenital deformities bring too many worries, which is what parents worry about the most.

2. Various problems during the prenatal and perinatal period

As long as the mother is able to conceive normally and carry a baby normally, there are two lives in her body. Problems during pregnancy can sometimes pose a threat to the safety of the mother and baby.
