Is silicone breast augmentation safe? Women must know

With the development of medicine in recent years, silicone breast augmentation has been born. It is said that the effect of silicone breast augmentation is particularly good, and it can ensure that it does not deform for a long time, which makes many female friends have a heart-warming idea, but is this silicone breast augmentation method really safe? Most people don't know, let's take a closer look!

After all, silicone is a foreign body, so it is normal for adverse reactions to occur after being implanted in the human body. If there is a problem, it can be completely removed. Unlike other products, silicone implants only have a sterilization validity period but no clear shelf life. Any product has an aging process, so breast augmentation patients should replace the original capsule 10-15 years after implantation.

What are the disadvantages of silicone breast augmentation?

The world's first cosmetic plastic surgery using silicone breast implants was performed in 1963. At that time, people felt that silicone breasts felt natural and soft, had good breast augmentation effects, and the surgery was relatively simple, so they were popular among doctors and women. In the United States alone, 1 to 2 million women have undergone this type of breast augmentation surgery, and it is estimated that 90,000 to 100,000 women worldwide use silicone breast implants each year.

According to relevant statistics, up to 80% of women have breast augmentation purely for cosmetic purposes, while the proportion of women who have breast augmentation for medical reasons after mastectomy is very low. Complaints about silicone implants were very rare before 1990. But complaints of silicone rupture, death and other problems have risen sharply since the surgery's lack of safety came to light in the early 1990s.

Is silicone breast augmentation safe? Many medical professionals point out that the harm of silicone to health is chronic and difficult to see in a short period of time. German scientists conducted a long-term observation study on about 200 women who had breast augmentation surgery, confirming that silicone as a breast filler is not as safe and durable as people imagine, and that silicone can penetrate and diffuse, causing damage to the liver. Studies have shown that more than one-third of women will have defects in their breast augmentation a few years after surgery and will need at least one or two more surgeries to replace the fillers. Among the women who had so-called perfect breast augmentation results, one-third were found to have silicon in their livers, which affected the immune system and made these women's inherent diseases more susceptible to recurrence. Many said they had rheumatism and burning or itching in their limbs.

Of course, the focus of the debate on the safety of silicone breast augmentation is still the issue of carcinogenesis. Also in June last year, a 13-member expert panel from the American Medical Association published the results of its research on this issue: although there is no evidence that silicone necessarily causes cancer, silicone breast augmentation can indeed cause some related diseases.

Silicone breast augmentation only emphasizes that bigger is more beautiful and seeks quick success, which has caused great harm to women. The first is the harm that breast augmentation surgery causes to the body. Since the 1960s, at least 4 million people around the world have undergone breast augmentation surgery. At the same time, the number of failed breast augmentation surgeries has increased dramatically, and related lawsuits have emerged one after another.

There are many cases of failed breast plastic surgery, which occur every year in China, such as placing breast prostheses in the chest cavity, tearing the pleura, and postoperative infection. Although these conditions can be recovered through treatment, they will cause certain pain to the patients and affect their work and life. The success of a breast augmentation operation involves many aspects and links. The various drawbacks of traditional breast augmentation methods bring women not only temporary pain but also surgical failure. Injections lead to breast rot, speech, and hormone drugs are like time bombs in the body. These bring more than just temporary harm to our female compatriots. The pain in the heart and the mental torture may have to be endured for a lifetime.

Artificial fat is a soft tissue filler that is implanted in the human body for a long time. It is often used in surgeries such as breast augmentation and buttock augmentation. It is one of the three most common breast augmentation methods, along with autologous fat transplantation and breast augmentation with implants. However, as the technology is still immature and poses safety risks, a large number of complaints about failures have been received after it was used in breast augmentation surgeries.
