How low does progesterone level need to be before the fetus stops growing? These should be known

Progesterone is a type of pregnancy hormone in the body that affects the development and growth of the fetus in the body. Many people want to know how low the progesterone level will cause fetal arrest. In addition to progesterone, this situation is also related to some other factors. However, if progesterone is too low, you should still pay attention to increasing it.

1. Be careful if progesterone is too low

There is no fixed definition of how low the progesterone level will lead to fetal arrest. However, when the progesterone level is 50% lower than the average level during pregnancy, fetal growth retardation may occur. Therefore, once there is a decrease in progesterone, it is necessary to actively supplement the progesterone level. A decrease in P concentration in early pregnancy indicates luteal insufficiency or abnormal embryonic development, or both, but 10% of normal pregnant women have serum progesterone levels below 79.25 nmol/L. Progesterone during pregnancy is less than 47.7nmol/L (15ng/ml), indicating intrauterine pregnancy hypoplasia or ectopic pregnancy. A progesterone level during pregnancy below 15.85 nmol/L (5 ng/ml) indicates that the pregnancy is dead, whether it is intrauterine or ectopic.

2. Normal progesterone value

Under normal circumstances after pregnancy, the progesterone value should be: 63.4-94.5 during early pregnancy, 95-150 during mid-pregnancy, and 150-1500 during late pregnancy. In your case, the progesterone level is too low. Too low progesterone level can easily lead to miscarriage. If you have vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, or a feeling of falling, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for intramuscular injection of progesterone and have a follow-up examination after one week. You can do B-ultrasound examination or HCG examination. The progesterone level in early pregnancy is within the range of 79.25-92.76nmol/L (25-30ng/ml), indicating the survival of the intrauterine pregnancy, with a sensitivity of 97.5%. In addition, the progesterone level increases slowly with the increase of gestational age.

3. Note

First of all, the reason why many female friends have low progesterone is due to disease factors, among which endocrine dysfunction is the most common one. Therefore, it is necessary to go to a regular hospital for relevant examinations in time, identify the pathogenic factors, and treat the symptoms in order to effectively achieve the goal of curing the disease. Secondly, many female friends hope to regulate their progesterone levels through diet, so they need to consume foods that are rich in soy isoflavones and natural vitamin E. These ingredients in food can help women produce more progesterone. Finally, fresh fruits can also help us supplement, such as kiwi, strawberry or grapefruit and other fruits can help women replenish vitamin C and vitamin E in the body, which can make our progesterone reach normal levels.
