Symptoms of posterior uterine wall fibroids

Symptoms of posterior uterine wall fibroids

Common symptoms of uterine posterior wall fibroids include irregular menstruation, increased vaginal discharge, or abdominal lumps and distension. Some patients may also develop secondary anemia problems, so these symptoms should be taken seriously.

1. Menstrual changes

It is the most common symptom, manifested as shortened menstrual cycle, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc.

2. Increased leucorrhea

The amount of vaginal discharge increases, sometimes with a large amount of purulent and bloody discharge and necrotic tissue discharge with a foul odor.

3. Abdominal mass

The abdomen is distended, and a mass can be felt in the lower abdomen, accompanied by a feeling of falling.

4. Compression symptoms

Uterine fibroids grow forward or backward and can compress the bladder, urethra, or rectum, causing frequent urination, difficulty urinating, urinary retention, or constipation. When uterine fibroids grow to both sides, broad ligament uterine fibroids are formed. When they compress the ureter, they can cause hydroureteral or renal pelvis; if they compress the pelvic blood vessels and lymphatic vessels, they can cause lower limb edema.

5. Secondary anemia

If patients with uterine posterior wall fibroids suffer from excessive menstruation for a long time, it may lead to secondary anemia, and symptoms such as general fatigue, pale complexion, shortness of breath, and palpitations.

6. Abdominal pain

Generally, patients with uterine posterior wall fibroids do not have abdominal pain, but often have lower abdominal distension, back pain, etc. When the pedicle of the subserosal uterine fibroid is twisted, acute abdominal pain may occur. When the fibroid turns red, the abdominal pain is severe and accompanied by fever.

7. Infertility

Uterine fibroids compress the fallopian tubes, causing them to twist, or deform the uterine cavity, thus preventing the fertilized egg from implanting and leading to infertility.
