What is a vaginal inverted biopsy?

In recent years, women's concern for their physical health has greatly increased. Not only do people pay more attention to maintaining themselves, but they also cherish their physical health more. Therefore, physical examinations for female friends have become more popular. Among the many examination items, colposcopy is one of them. It is an effective way to help doctors determine whether there is a problem with a woman's cervix or vagina. Let's take a look at what colposcopy is.

Colposcopy is a non-vascular interventional electronic endoscope that can enlarge the tissues of the private parts, vagina, cervix, etc. by 40 times, making it easier to detect tiny changes that are difficult for the human eye to see as early as possible. During a vaginal speculum examination, the doctor will insert a lubricated duckbill valve-shaped vaginal speculum into the female vagina, then open it and spread the vaginal walls that are usually close together to observe whether there are any visible changes in your vagina and cervix. Take a long breath when inserting and try to relax as much as possible. The more nervous you are, the more likely you are to feel pain, which will affect the test results.

Why should a colposcopy be performed?

1. Cervical diseases: cervical erosion, cervical cysts, cervical endometriosis

2. Vulvovaginal inflammation: private part dysfunction (leukoplakia of the vulva), condyloma acuminatum, abnormal changes in the private part and vagina

3. Women with a family history of cervical cancer

4. TCT positive

Features of colposcopy

1. It is non-invasive, painless and has no risk of cross infection.

2. Improving the accuracy of early diagnosis of cervical cancer is the goal of cervical cancer anti-cancer research.

3. The accuracy of puncture biopsy under colposcopy is higher, it can detect minor changes as early as possible, can dynamically observe the changes in reproductive system symptoms, and leave a permanent objective record.

What are the taboos about colposcopy?

(1) Choose colposcopy for screening. Generally, the best time to choose is within 7 to 10 days after the menstrual period ends, so that the results can be determined as soon as possible.

(2) Before colposcopy, women should refrain from vaginal sexual intercourse or vaginal cleaning or vaginal medication at least 24 hours in advance.

(3) It is not recommended to use colposcopy when the patient is inflamed. It is recommended to treat the inflammation first and then consider using colposcopy to prevent the relevant equipment from irritating the inflammation, thereby aggravating the gynecological inflammation problem and causing secondary damage to the patient's body.
