Symptoms of fungal vaginitis, most obvious is increased leucorrhea

Women are most likely to suffer from vaginitis. Many women think it is a common gynecological disease and do not take it seriously, which eventually affects their lives. The most obvious symptoms of candidal vaginitis are increased leucorrhea, vulvar itching, and difficulty urinating.

1. Symptoms of fungal vaginitis

The most common symptoms of candidal infection are excessive leucorrhea, burning and itching of the vulva and vagina, exogenous dysuria, and geographic erythema of the vulva (fungal or candidal vulvovaginitis). The typical leucorrhea is curd-like or flaky, and the vaginal mucosa is highly red and swollen. White thrush-like plaques can be seen attached and easily peeled off. Underneath is the eroded base of the damaged mucosa, or shallow ulcers may form. In severe cases, ecchymosis may remain. However, not all leucorrhea has the above typical characteristics. Leucorrhea may range from watery to curd-like. Some are completely thin and clear serous exudates, which often contain white flakes. The itching symptoms of candidal vaginitis during pregnancy are particularly severe, and the patient may even feel restless and extremely painful. There may also be symptoms such as frequent urination, dysuria and dyspareunia. In addition, about 10% of women and 30% of pregnant women are carriers of fungi but have no clinical manifestations.

2. Symptomatic care for candidal vaginitis

1. If you have sexual intercourse during treatment, you should insist on using condoms to avoid cross-infection between husband and wife. Avoid unclean sexual life.

2. Treat both spouses. Vulvovaginitis is often a sexually transmitted disease. The husband of the infected woman has pathogens living in the foreskin folds, urethra, and prostate. If only the woman is treated, the man may become a source of infection and lead to recurrence.

3. If long-term use of oral contraceptives causes recurrent vaginitis, you should stop taking the contraceptives and use other contraceptive methods instead.

4. Avoid excessive use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, which may cause imbalance in the normal vaginal flora. Avoid spicy food.

5. Vaginitis caused by microbial infection needs to be followed up after treatment because it may recur afterwards, especially candidal vaginitis, which may recur if not treated thoroughly or there are inducing factors. Therefore, you should go to the hospital for examination after 2 weeks of treatment and after the next menstruation is over. Incomplete treatment is one of the reasons for the recurrence and difficulty in treating vaginitis. The standard for cure is that the leucorrhea is negative after three menstrual cycles.

6. Pay attention to personal hygiene, keep the vulva clean and dry, change underwear frequently, and use vulva equipment for one person only. Used underwear, towels, and basins should be washed with boiling water and exposed to the sun instead of drying them in the sun. When going to public places such as public toilets, swimming pools, and bathrooms, be careful to prevent cross infection. You should choose a pad with good breathability.

7. Avoid excessive scratching, rubbing, washing with hot water, etc. for itchy areas. Do not use strongly alkaline soaps for bathing. Do not use bath agents to repeatedly clean the vulva or rinse the vagina, which will cause changes in the vaginal pH and lead to an imbalance in the normal vaginal flora, thereby destroying the vagina's acidic antibacterial barrier. Do not abuse highly irritating hormonal topical medications.
