Menstrual symptoms before menopause, 3 signs to watch out for

Women will experience a series of changes in their menstruation before menopause. The most obvious change is menstrual cycle disorder. Some people will experience prolonged menstruation, and some may even have continuous bleeding.

Prolonged menstrual period, continuous bleeding, irregular menstrual cycle, and abnormal menstruation often occur before menopause, because as women age, they enter menopause and their ovarian function becomes unbalanced, from instability to decline. Symptoms such as cyclical breast pain, edema, headache, and premenstrual syndrome also gradually disappear. What are the menstrual symptoms of women before menopause? Generally, from the decline of ovarian function to the cessation of menstruation, there are three symptoms before menopause:

1. Infrequent menstruation: The menstrual volume may be normal or less than before, and the intervals between menstrual cycles become longer and longer, from the normal 20 to 30 days to 2 to 3 months, or even longer, and then stop completely.

2. Menstrual cycle disorders: heavy vaginal bleeding, general fatigue, palpitations, shortness of breath, anemia, and sallow complexion; sometimes the menstrual period is prolonged, with continuous vaginal bleeding that lasts for 1 to 2 months; generally, after 1 to 2 years, the repeated bleeding will stop the menstruation completely. Premenopausal menstrual cycle disorders are the most common, and doctors should conduct detailed examinations on women over the age of 40. First, exclude bleeding caused by tumor or perform endometrial biopsy.

3. Sudden menopause: The menstrual cycle and menstrual period have been normal in the past, except for a few times when the menstrual flow gradually decreases, and then the menstruation suddenly stops.

What are the menstrual symptoms of women before menopause? The diagnosis can only be established when menstruation lasts for at least 6 months to 1 year. The diagnosis of menopause needs to be confirmed in retrospect.
