Women's leucorrhea will undergo certain changes before menstruation. The most important manifestation is that the amount of leucorrhea will increase in the few days before menstruation. If you are not feeling well, you may even have abnormal leucorrhea. Changes in leucorrhea before and after menstruation Between two menstrual periods (i.e. ovulation period), the leucorrhea is abundant, transparent, sticky like egg white and can be pulled into threads. Normal leucorrhea is milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell or no smell. The amount and texture of secretion are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body, and vary cyclically with the menstrual cycle, with varying amounts, textures and concentrations. If the leucorrhea is yellow, it is a manifestation of inflammatory leucorrhea, which can usually be manifested as: the leucorrhea of candidal vaginitis is yellow or white, typically in the shape of tofu dregs or curds, and is accompanied by vulvar itching. Most of the time, it has a thick texture, but sometimes it can also be thin and slightly smelly. The leucorrhea of Trichomonas vaginitis is yellow or yellow-green, thin and thick, with a large amount of foam, and is accompanied by vulvar itching and a foul odor. Cervical erosion is characterized by yellow leucorrhea, increased volume, purulent content, and often odorless. Changes of leucorrhea before and after menstruation After the menstruation is over, the vaginal discharge is small in volume, white in color, and paste-like. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent and slightly sticky like egg white. 2-3 days after ovulation, vaginal discharge becomes turbid, thick and less in quantity. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases. Changes of leucorrhea before and after menstruation After the menstruation is over, the blood flow in the uterus and vagina returns to normal and the leucorrhea also decreases. In addition to the increase in leucorrhea before menstruation, some people also have more leucorrhea when they are tired and ovulating, which is all normal. If the color of the leucorrhea turns yellow, becomes purulent, has a foul odor, and is accompanied by vulvar itching, this is abnormal and you need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment. |
