[Health Science] Do women with cervical cysts need surgery?

Cervical cyst is one of the common gynecological diseases in women. The symptoms of cervical cyst are not very obvious, so many patients develop cervical cysts without discovering it themselves. So does cervical cyst require surgery?

Do cervical cysts require surgery?

1. Scattered and relatively small cervical cysts generally do not require treatment, and only require annual examinations.

2. For densely packed smaller Nabothian cysts or relatively large cysts, physical treatments such as phototherapy, laser, microwave, and self-coagulation knife can be considered.

3. For larger ones that protrude from the surface of the cervix, electrosurgical excision can be considered. The above treatment methods are not too painful and basically will not affect daily work and life. The specific situation still needs to be decided after a consultation.

How can women prevent cervical cysts?

1. Pay attention to hygiene at ordinary times, keep the vulva clean and prevent the invasion of pathogens. Have sexual intercourse in moderation and avoid excessive sexual intercourse. Pay attention to sexual hygiene and the spouse should take care to remove the smegma on the penis.

2. Implement family planning, take contraceptive measures, and try to avoid mechanical damage to the cervix caused by multiple abortions. At the same time, gynecological surgical operations must be performed strictly aseptically to prevent iatrogenic infection and injury. Avoid damaging the cervix during delivery. If cervical laceration is found, it should be sutured promptly and antibiotics should be used.

3. Pay attention to hygiene during menstruation, miscarriage and postpartum period. Sexual intercourse and bathing in a tub should be strictly prohibited during menstruation and after delivery to prevent pathogenic bacteria from taking advantage of the opportunity to enter.

4. Have regular gynecological examinations and actively treat cervical inflammation if found. Pay attention to physical exercise, pay proper attention to nutrition and hygiene, and ensure physical and mental health.
