I've been farting since I got pregnant

When a woman becomes pregnant, her body will undergo many changes. Since everyone's physical condition is different, the reactions of pregnant women are also different. Many pregnant women will fart frequently after becoming pregnant. This will make pregnant women feel embarrassed, and of course they don’t know what is going on. In fact, farting is normal for pregnant women, and pregnant women don’t need to panic or be embarrassed.

I'm farting a lot when I'm pregnant. What's going on?

In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, as the fetus continues to grow, the uterus continues to expand, pressing on the intestines, making it difficult for the intestines to move, which will cause bloating. After bloating, the body needs to expel gas, which is commonly known as "farting". In addition, in the early stages of pregnancy, the side effects of progesterone in the pregnant mother's body can also cause bloating. These are unavoidable and normal physiological phenomena that every pregnant mother will experience. We can only pay more attention to our eating habits and try to reduce the number of times we pass gas.

How to relieve farting during early pregnancy

1. Eat small and frequent meals: To avoid bloating, pregnant mothers can eat 5 to 6 meals a day. Eating less undigested food reduces the workload on the stomach. It is recommended to eat less potatoes. Eating too many potatoes will not only cause bloating but also stomach pain. Eat more fruits and vegetables: Fresh fruits and vegetables are easy to digest. Foods such as beans, pasta, and starch are easy to produce gas and can easily cause gastrointestinal discomfort. It is recommended to eat less.

2. Drink more boiled water: There must be enough water in the large intestine to promote bowel movements and relieve bloating. It is recommended that pregnant mothers drink more warm water, not cold water, and avoid carbonated and stimulating drinks.

3. Massage more: If necessary, you can gently massage your stomach to make the intestines move, promote defecation and exhaust, and relieve bloating. But pregnant mothers should be careful not to rub the uterus accidentally, as external friction may cause uterine contraction and even bleeding in severe cases.

4. Walk more: Walk outdoors more when you have time, and reduce the time you sit and sleep during the day. It can increase intestinal motility and promote defecation and gas discharge. It is recommended to go out when the weather is good, as it is easy to fall on rainy days.

5. Eat more fiber

You can eat more vegetables and fruits. For example, during the first trimester, the baby needs a lot of protein, so the demand for foods such as starch, pasta, and beans, which are easy to produce gas and cause gastrointestinal discomfort, is relatively small and you don’t need to consume too much. In addition, you can get an appropriate amount of sugar and starch. Apples and pears are good sources. You can also get starch and protein from meat. Beef and fish are good choices.
