Women's Health: Things About the Cleanliness of Vaginal Discharge

Vaginal secretions are fluids secreted by the female reproductive system, commonly known as "leucorrhea". It is a barometer of women's health, so female friends must not ignore abnormalities in leucorrhea. The cleanliness of vaginal discharge can be divided into four different levels, and women can use this standard to judge whether vaginal discharge is normal.

1. Classification standard of vaginal secretion cleanliness

Grade I: There are a large number of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells, no miscellaneous bacteria or white blood cells, and the field of vision is clear, indicating that it is normal secretions.

Grade II: There are moderate amounts of vaginal bacilli and epithelial cells, a small amount of white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria, and it is still normal vaginal secretions.

Grade III: A small amount of vaginal bacilli and squamous epithelium, but a relatively large number of miscellaneous bacteria and white blood cells, indicating milder vaginal inflammation.

Grade IV: There are no vaginal bacilli, only a few epithelial cells, a large number of white blood cells and miscellaneous bacteria. It indicates relatively severe vaginal inflammation, such as candidal vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis.

Grades I to II are normal, while grades III to IV are abnormal leucorrhea, indicating vaginal inflammation.

2. Cleanliness inspection

Vaginal secretions are added with normal saline to make a smear, which is then examined under a high-power microscope. The cleanliness is mainly determined by the number of white blood cells, epithelial cells, vaginal bacilli and miscellaneous bacteria.

When ovarian function is insufficient, estrogen is reduced, and vaginal epithelial hyperplasia is poor, a decrease in vaginal bacilli can be seen, making it more susceptible to infection by miscellaneous bacteria. If the cleanliness is poor and no pathogenic microorganisms are found, it is nonspecific pyelitis.

When the cleanliness level is III to IV, pathogenic microorganisms can often be found at the same time, indicating the presence of vaginitis caused by infection.
