Treatment principles for adolescent functional uterine bleeding, do you know these methods?

Many people may be unfamiliar with functional uterine bleeding during adolescence, but it is a common problem among adolescent women. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence is also called functional uterine bleeding. Its specific manifestations are irregular menstrual cycles and menstrual volume. It is a disease caused by ovarian dysfunction. So how can functional uterine bleeding in adolescence be treated?

1: Treatment of functional uterine bleeding in adolescence

1: Currently, hormone hemostasis is widely used in the treatment of adolescent functional uterine bleeding. Through the action of sex hormones, the endometrium is repaired by growth or completely shed and then repaired to stop bleeding. For patients with longer bleeding time and more bleeding amount, the medication time should be extended, generally about 20 days, and the effect can be better. A small amount of withdrawal bleeding may occur within a few days after stopping the medication. This should be explained to the patient before taking the medication, and estrogen-progestin sequential therapy or combination medication should be used to adjust the menstrual cycle.

Estrogen treatment for functional uterine bleeding in adolescence: It can be used for those with prolonged bleeding time, small amount of bleeding and insufficient estrogen levels in the body. After supplementation, it can promote endometrial repair and achieve the purpose of hemostasis. Due to the large dosage, it has an inhibitory effect on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, so it is not suitable for long-term continuous use. The dosage should also be determined according to the amount of bleeding.

Progestin hemostasis: Progestin hemostasis is suitable for patients who already have a certain level of estrogen in their bodies. At this time, the effect of progestin can cause the endometrium to undergo secretory changes and fall off completely. Its hemostatic effect occurs after withdrawal bleeding. For patients with prolonged bleeding time and heavy bleeding, the dosage should be increased and the medication time should be prolonged.
