Every woman should know this disease after pregnancy

When a woman becomes a pregnant mother, she becomes the core of the entire family, and your health and the development of the fetus affect everyone. Before becoming pregnant, some women gratefully tell their families that they are in very good health and that their families won’t have to worry about them after they become pregnant. But after becoming pregnant, I found that some diseases I had never heard of were happening to me, the most common of which was gestational hypertension.

Hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy are one of the important causes of maternal mortality in recent years. Pregnant women who already have high blood pressure before pregnancy can usually receive early attention, but for most pregnant women, high blood pressure is discovered for the first time during pregnancy, which is also known as gestational hypertension.

Therefore, pregnant women often come for prenatal check-ups, and when the doctor tells them that they have gestational hypertension, the patients will find it incomprehensible and even question what the doctor says.

Gestational hypertension is a disease unique to pregnancy, with an incidence rate of about 10% in my country. Most pregnant women have no obvious symptoms, while a few experience dizziness, headache, or even convulsions. The mortality rate is around 7/100,000. Early detection and timely treatment are of great significance.

The pathogenesis of gestational hypertension is still unclear, but the incidence rate is higher in pregnant women who smoke, are obese, have multiple pregnancies, are calcium deficient, or have had hypertension in previous pregnancies.

Usually, you should pay more attention to rest and nutrition. You should feel happy and relaxed, try to stay in bed for more than 10 hours a day, preferably in side-lying position, to enhance blood circulation and improve blood supply to the kidneys. Avoid eating too salty food and ensure adequate intake of protein and vitamins.

A diet with three highs and one low should be adopted, i.e., high protein, high calcium, high potassium and low sodium. The daily protein intake should be 100 grams, and the daily salt intake should be controlled to less than 5 grams. Helps prevent pregnancy-induced hypertension. Therefore, pregnant women should eat more fish, meat, eggs, milk and fresh vegetables, supplement iron and calcium, and eat less salty food.

Regular prenatal check-ups for early detection. Blood pressure is routinely monitored during every prenatal check-up, and urine analysis is mainly done to see if there is protein in the urine. Do not smoke and minimize the possibility of passive smoking.

Do appropriate exercise, ensure adequate sleep, keep a happy mood, and avoid large emotional fluctuations. Control your weight and limit your weight gain during pregnancy to no more than 30kg.

Balanced nutrition, light diet, and appropriate addition of foods rich in protein and calcium. Avoid eating too much meat or fish or too salty food.
