Dysmenorrhea is something that many women experience nowadays. Some patients with severe dysmenorrhea even have stomach pain during menstruation and cannot do anything. Now many drugs have been developed to treat dysmenorrhea, but many women are worried that using drugs will cause harm to the body and affect the regularity of our menstruation. So does dysmenorrhea need to be treated? Pathological dysmenorrhea is pain caused by diseases in the pelvic cavity. For example, endometriosis is the most common pathological dysmenorrhea, accounting for about 50%. The methods for diagnosing pathological dysmenorrhea include detailed medical history, pelvic examination, ultrasound examination, and blood screening. Most causes of dysmenorrhea can be detected, but for certain mild diseases; women who have never had sexual life; and when encountering certain blind spots in the examination, further laparoscopic surgery may be needed to make a correct diagnosis. When suffering from dysmenorrhea, some people find that applying a hot water bottle to the abdomen can relieve pain. People with this constitution can take more hot springs or hot water baths on weekdays, each time for about an hour. While taking a bath, they can also massage the area near the navel (about the width of the palm), which has a good effect on improving pelvic blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis (congestion). However, it is not suitable to take a bath during menstruation. At this time, you can press the area two horizontal fingers below the navel (this is the Zhongji point) with your thumb. Generally, pressing for ten to twenty minutes can reduce or eliminate dysmenorrhea. Patients should eat foods rich in vitamin B1, B2, vitamin C, and E. Generally, women with weaker bodies will experience symptoms of dysmenorrhea, so daily conditioning is the key to treating dysmenorrhea. Western medicine can only temporarily relieve pain for dysmenorrhea, but if we want to completely treat dysmenorrhea, we also need to use Chinese medicine to regulate the body in our daily lives. |
