So will amenorrhea cause obesity?

1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction

The main problem is that the function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is unstable or defective, that is, menstrual disease.

2. Caused by ovarian problems

Menstrual irregularities in women of childbearing age are generally due to poor ovarian corpus luteum function, which often manifests as a period but a shortened period or heavy menstrual bleeding.

3. Caused by organic disease or drugs

Including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities, malnutrition of the reproductive organs; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions, such as abnormal thyroid and adrenal cortex function, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc.; liver diseases; blood diseases, etc. Menstrual irregularities may occur in women who use drugs to treat mental illnesses, endocrine preparations, or intrauterine devices for contraception. Certain occupations, such as long-distance runners, are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for menstrual irregularities.

In clinical diagnosis of neuroendocrine dysfunctional menstrual disorders, the above-mentioned organic causes must be excluded.

4. Caused by obesity

Obesity is caused by consuming more calories than the body consumes. Long-term obesity in women will result in endocrine and metabolic disorders, leading to menstrual disorders, infrequent menstruation, amenorrhea, and functional uterine bleeding. In clinical medicine, it is often found that the histological changes in the ovaries of obese patients are very similar to polycystic ovary syndrome. When the weight is lost, menstruation resumes and ovarian changes disappear. Contemporary medicine has confirmed that obesity can cause menstrual irregularities.

In fact, obese women in life will suffer from amenorrhea, but will amenorrhea cause obesity? If you do not control your diet and your metabolism is abnormal, you will easily become obese. However, this is not caused by amenorrhea. In fact, there are many reasons that lead to obesity in life.
